Mitt Still Doesn't Get It: Blames GOP Losses on Bad Timing
House Minority Whip Eric Cantor and former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said in an interview airing on CNN's State of the Union Sunday morning that the GOP wasn't directly responsible for much of the party's electoral misfortune in 2008.

"I frankly believe that much of what happened in the last election revolved around the fact that the economy fell apart at the time we were, if you will, holding the hot potato. Republicans and Democrats have been playing this game, passing the hot the potato, spending money like there was no tomorrow," Romney told John King.

"And the economy came crashing down while our party was holding the hot potato. And people said, hey, it's time for something else but I think if they took a good, hard look at what the — something else is planning on doing with regards to the massive borrowing, they are going to say, that is probably not the right thing for America's future."

Mitt, get a clue. You lost because George W. Bush led your party over a ledge. You lost because you lost touch with America and American values. You lost because Obama shared his vision of repairing the damage you had done in an eloquent and heartfelt manner. You lost because no one in your party can articulate what you stand for because you don't know yourselves. You lost because your brand of leadership failed America and diminished our standing in the world community.

Bad timing? Is THAT what you think it was?

1. Good, I hope they keep making excuses
The longer they continue to ignore the fact that most people no longer believe in the GOP stance on economic and social issues the smaller and less important their party becomes.

2. And Cantor apparently thinks the biggest problem is they don't have cool enough web sites.
He said Obama was highly "adept" at reaching young people, and the republicans couldn't just continue doing things the same old way they always have "TECHNOLOGY wise."

Really Eric? You dumbass?

3. GOP destroys the economy and calls the resulting election losses 'bad timing.' LOL!
Gotta love the way the GOP takes responsibility for the mess it created.

4. Mitt still thinks he lost the GOP primary race because his hair wasn't just right.
The guy is dumber than Palin. Okay, that might be a stretch, but he is pretty stupid.

Flaw found in electronic voting machines
Deleted votes don't register on audit logs and could go uncounted

By Darryl R. Isherwood | Of The Morning Call
May 3, 2009

When 197 absentee votes disappeared from an electronic voting machine in California, officials were baffled. When the machine's log showed no trace of the votes -- neither cast nor erased -- they were shocked, even angry.

The company that sells the machines said the vote-counting software in the California machines was flawed and would be fixed in a newer version. Outside California, no problems involving actual reports have been reported.

But Premier Election Solutions' search for California's problem uncovered a potentially more troubling flaw in every version of the company's software, which also is used in machines in Lehigh and eight other Pennsylvania counties.

The affected machines scan paper ballots -- generally absentee votes -- and upload them to a central server.

6. Actually it's history repeating
Like all the other bullshit merchants on the right, Romney refuses to see the true reasons for the fall of the GOP. They think it's the times or that Bushco abandoned their principles and they are locked into a blame Bush mentality. But, actually their fall is because many of the tenets of their dogma are simply wrong. It reminds me of the aftermath of the crash and depression 80 years ago.

Their thinking today is a lot like it was in the 30s, when they blamed Hoover instead of entertaining the possibility that there could be something inherently wrong with their philosophy. They spent decades vilifying FDR and swearing that their ideology was right.

It seems to me that their best chance to regain relevance with the electorate would be to look at their situation objectively and pragmatically. Based on what we are seeing today, though, it appears that once one has consumed the kool aid of RW dogma, one is incapable of recovery.

There is a good chance, barring catastrophic failure of this and future democratic administrations, that history will repeat. It looks like the GOP could be in the wilderness for another 50 years. Good.

7. In his princely, megamillion dollar world ....
The wealthy son of a wealthy family would call it 'bad timing' when the economy for the rest of us 'rabble' hits the skids ... JUST when he is trying to win an election ...

Aww shucks, Mr. Romney .... Better luck next time ....

(Asshole .....)
