Is George W Bush still involved in criminal activities?
As he was when he was the "Decider in Chief"? I do recall that Ari Fleischer, Karl Rove, and Dana Perino and others had come before the media to try and re-define and spin history to W's advantage. The public did not buy it. Maybe they will wait a while longer before they try it again? The wounds from his Presidency are still open and sore. It was very bad timing. But what else is new?

Or is he just laying on the couch with his bourbon and coke and a bag of Cheetos, waiting for a call from some baseball guy? Do you think he has really disappeared? Is he really that type? I don't think so. His entire life has been one of competition. Everything is a game to be won. It makes him feel superior. Just like when he captured Saddam Hussein. He was so thrilled he wanted to put on a flight suit and fly out to an aircraft carrier and pronounce that the mission was accomplished. Watch this drive!

3. Dubya may be following the Franklin Pierce model for ex-presidents.
That is, drinking oneself into obscurity.

The Pierce model may not entirely work for Dubya, though. Pierce was politically ineffective, to be sure, but that point willingly granted, he was also intelligent and well-liked. It doesn't seem to me that Dubya has the capacity for thought or sociability.

I love your image of him sprawled on the sofa stuffing Freetos down his gullet.

11. Your time line is incorrect
He put on his flight suit and Mission Accomplished gig was May 1, 2003. Saddam Hussein was captured by U.S. Forces December 13, 2004
