Bob Schieffer just proved Justice Souter right

That's a petty way to call out somebody who doesn't like the Washington D.C. culture and who had the integrity to stay out of it. It would have been nice if he decided to put up a fight when he was interviewing Dick Cheney a few moments before, but Justice Souter is the bad guy because he doesn't like to go to cocktail parties and rub elbows with everybody. I can see why he won't miss Washington now.

5. Judges should not be rubbing elbows with those who may appear before them.

It's called ex parte communications. And its' a no, no. So, if there are any lawyers at these events, especially any Supreme Court lawyers, the judges should stay away. Judges are very special people or at least they should be.

Justice Souter chose to keep to himself and not kiss ass at DC cocktail parties and compromise his integrity. And THAT's what Schieffer holds against him? Unbelieveable.

Something like: Justice Souter won't miss Washington, but Washington isn't going to miss you. I probably messed that up some but that was basically what he said. It irritated me.
