This is one of the great battles in which we find ourselves today. How do you come to a compromise with people like that? Everybody said, "We ought to compromise, Rush, bipartisanship, we gotta all get along." How do you do that? How do you compromise good versus evil? How do you compromise victory with defeat? As I said last week, should Jesus have made a deal with Lucifer? Should Jesus have made a deal with Satan? How would that deal have come out? What would the compromise there be? So it's a great illustration.

Good CAN'T compromise with evil. I'm glad Rush understands why he and his like minded evildoers need be marginalized and eventually run off public stage.

Good is not so good (in your case, it's flat out intolerant) and evil is not so evil. They compromise all the time IN A DEMOCRACY. You know where there is NO compromise? A dictatorship.

The government of this nation was DELIBERATELY set up so that it could not function without compromise.

Anyone who says there can be no compromise? That person is Satan. Go look in the mirror.

I am more than willing to compromise with conservatives, with libertarians, with my fellow liberals, anyone anywhere who has an HONEST difference of opinion but who wants what they think is best themselves, and for their neighbors and both here and around the world. I am a firm believer in a two party system and expect the party I've chosen to welcome a variety of viewpoints and vigorous discussion.

However, some things are NOT tolerable - there are some things in this world that I just don't believe we should give even one inch to. Rush and the people he respresents, the Cheneys, the Bush's, the core PNAC - they are a different breed. They are predators. They will always be predators. Compromising with them gets people all over the world impoverished and/or dead. I won't do it. If that makes me a satan no better than Rush so be it.

I can find some sort of common ground with 99.999% of people (not literally but you get my drift). But there is a small, very small, core of political leaders I absolutely positively refuse to be anything other than a solid brick wall. He is a cancer, and I want him cut out.

This is what happens when ideological purists that see things in black-and-white are in control of a party.

I'm surprised so many people fail to see the distinction.
