Wanda Sykes should've brought up Rush Limbaugh's Viagra, too.

In addition to her excellent observation:

"Rush Limbaugh said he hopes this administration fails," Sykes began. "So you're saying, 'I hope America fails', you're, like, 'I don't care about people losing their homes, their jobs, our soldiers in Iraq'. He just wants the country to fail.

"To me, that's treason. He's not saying anything differently than what Osama bin Laden is saying. You know, you might want to look into this, sir, because I think Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker. But he was just so strung out on OxyContin he missed his flight. Rush Limbaugh, I hope the country fails, I hope his kidneys fail, how about that? He needs a good waterboarding, that's what he needs."

Ms. Sykes might've added:

The guy seems to be a pervert, too. When he flew down to the Dominican Republic, he took Viagra with him -- someone else's prescription, at that. Customs agents found the pills when he came back. Now why would a guy need to take Viagra with him to the Dominican Republic? It's a haven for sex-tourism. That also means child-sex.

I'm sure time considerations led her to pare down the material considerably. I'm sure she'll have a lot to say in the future if one pus brained conservative bloviator dares take her on.

She's world-class doing the political thing.

and esp. not child sex. It would be my guess but since it wasn't proved Rush could sue for defamation of character.

Secondly, why offend men in the audience who may take Viagra, or their wives/SO's who want them to?

Taking Viagra in and of itself is not a bad thing. I bet plenty of liberals do...

He deserves a lot of his own prescription medicine. It is illegal to be in possession of Viagra and other drugs that have not been prescribed by a physician.

The guy didn't vacation with any wife, ex-wife, significant other or stewardess. Rush Limbaugh went with some male buddies to a place known around the world for its many young prostitutes, often still children.

If a liberal, say a liberal with the last name "Kennedy," had done any of the above, it'd be a good bet Rush would talk about it until he built up sufficient buzz to ensure that it stayed associated in the public mind with the name "Kennedy." It's how haters and character assassins work.

And that is the bad kind the one that spews hate against other like himself while hiding his own actions! And don't report me for this it is not directed against gay people just Hypocrites like Rush Lamebrain.

It also is important we recognized for his own, eh, shortcomings.

Rushbo's addiction has never really been pushed into the open. He surely paid a nice sum to get his case squashed and the evidence buried, but there were still a lot of nugets left behind to point to a serious problem...one that is more damaging to him than laughing about his need for getting a stiffy.

Testimony showed he was using a massive amount of Oxy...tie this into his "deafness" confessions several years ago and the pattern of abuse starts to rear its head...but it was never brought to light. Thus it was both safe ground and plenty of fodder for Wanda to use and to get a direct hit.

Had she gone into his sexual questions (and this goes back to his Jeff Christy days in the 70s), she opens the door to not just taking a cheap shot with little real proof (as compared to his Oxy bust) and then give the wingnuts a chance to bash her for being a lesbian (or at least more than they already have or will). I think it was a smart move on her part.

I suspect the reality was he got into the best detox program money can buy.

Excellent point about bringing up the guy's sexual history. Who knows how that could boomerang? Sykes, though, is not ashamed of who she is.

Regarding the guy's return from the Dominican Republic with a half-empty bottle of Viagra -- that should be associated with Limpnuts every time the guy's name is mentioned in public and on the air. It's the least he deserves.

...and do. Different drummers for different songs. While neither of us find anything wrong..far from it, that Wanda is open about her sexuality, we're not Tweety and the corporate media horde...all ready to slap labels and aggitate any right wing shit fit. Jon Stewart showed a bunch of it with Betamillion Bennet's usual faux outrage/tirade and other handwringers. Best to let them piss and moan about the drug connection and how mean and evil Sykes is than to turn it into a morality play about whose sexuality is "right"...it's just too tempting for the corporate media to stay away from.

While KO said Wanda's comments were "over-the-line"...maybe on the corporate media, but it sure isn't here. One thing we're starting to learn how to do well is the constant drumbeat. Instead of making lots of noise, we do it with volume. I have no qualms whatsoever with anyone having a good laugh at rushbo's expense and questioning those Viagra bottles and Dominican trips, but it's never been as substantiated as his drug use. Always best to use your weapons for the proper battles.
