Hardball now---re; torture photos
Some repub keeps saying that the only reason some want these
photos made public is to "drag the Bush-Cheney
administration through the mud".
Hello-------these bags o' pus created the mud and have
happily, repeatedly and enthusiastically jumped, splashed and
wallowed in it.
As for Obama's motivation in reversing the decision to release
the pix, I wonder if they just show so many people doing so
many despicable things that their publication would fuel a
wildfire of indignation and demands for investigation and
prosecution.
As others here have rightly said: Appoint a special
prosecutor to look into ALL allegations regarding torture on
both sides of the aisle and go wherever the evidence leads.

10. Not a thing---
I don't care if the special prosecutor is appointed reluctantly or enthusiastically---just so he or she is appointed.
You know, if you Google "law and order" and "GOP", the most frequent adjective you'll find used is STRICT. Surely the GOP, the "party of principle" where "character counts" can live up to several decades worth of their own platforms---don'tcha think?
And, thanks to all for the welcomes.

3. Right on!
An independent investigation is exactly what we need. Congress has more pressing matters (this has been dragging on for years anyway and there is no statute of limitations). Obama doesn't need the distraction. Let a special prosecutor put the pieces together.

9. Seems it was much easier to impeach a President
over sex.

11. yeah, he kept saying that the ACLU just wanted to drag bush through the mud
and sensationalize. that is not what the ACLU is about. I think the ACLU is thinking that making these images public is the only way to get justice. oh, supposedly people have been disciplined... but not the people who should have been. there is no way this is just some rogue thing that a few bad apples did at this point. this is a direct result of bush et all and their 'enhanced interrogation techniques'. i don't have a problem if they want to keep these pictures out of the public eye as long as they are being seen by a special prosecutor... and independent special prosecutor!! who will prosecute the people who should be prosecuted! like bush and cheney.

13. The republican adminstration had the pictures taken. Yes, they did create the mud
and expressed their pride in how bad-ass 'muricans are. They called them "college pranks" and defended them as tactics that help in the fight against terrorism.
