He did.

Cheney's vote back then is as relevant as it is today. It shows that he is an awful judge of character.

If Nelson Mandela and the ANC were terrorists, what did that make the apartheid regime? Ultra-terrorists?

The Apartheid regime:
Killed dissenters
Illegally tried to develop weapons of mass destruction, and they tried to develop biological weapons that would only target people of certain ethnic groups
Was racist
Fostered proxy wars and mass murderers (Such as the leader of RENAMO) in neighboring countries

Just remember this at all times when dealing with Cheney...

He thought Nelson Mandela was worse than the neo-fascist terror state of Apartheid South Africa... And now he is judging who is a terrorist, who are illegal combatants, etc.

1. Having said all that about the SA regime, Cheney was right from his
He would have strongly identified with those in power, the privileged, white, authoritarian, rich oppressive regime. He has been their asskissing waterboy all his life, and I am certain the ANC terrified HIM !

2. Cheney does not understand legitimate grievances.
Cheney understands that whites can do whatever they want to non-whites (black, brown), such as what happened under apartheid, but that the recipients of that bad treatment when they protest against it, do not have legitimate grievances, and therefore their protests are terrorism.

i.e. he has the same right-wing white-superiority mentality that the apartheid people had.

3. Indeed...
He also said there was overwhelming evidence of WMD's in Iraq...that there was irrefutable evidence that Saddam Hussein had a strong relationship with Bin Laden...he also said we would be greeted as liberators in Iraq.
Fuck, that idiot has been wrong on EVERYTHING.
Screw Dick Cheney.
