They have to take their shoes and socks off to count the number of "tens of thousands."

29. The reporter I heard said that
last week there were hundreds of thousands in DC for the Right to Life cause. And he thought there was no way that this protest had near as many people. This was about 11 am.

31. I think that was the same reporter.
He also admitted that things still had a couple of hours to go before the crowd would peak--I'm just paraphrasing--and that there were marches that were starting throughout DC headed for the White House.

13. Unfortunately, Freep has one point
other than the one on their heads, and that's regarding the 9/11 conspiracy banner shown. What the hell are people thinking? I work in New York in the Bronx and Manhattan and the conspiracy crowd is really really insulting. It makes me sick to think that I actually agree with the jerks at Freep over anything. I'm going to go and throw up now.

16. I take it you believe the Official Government Conspiracy Theory?
That's fine, but you should know that the 911 truth movement has done far more research on the subject than our government has.

38. No it hasn't
None of what any conspiracy theorist conducts is in any way worthy of being described as "research". People should leave research to actual researchers. 9/11 conspiracy theorists merely stregthen repukelickan criticisms of the left as being full of halfwits. at this point before the election cycle, we shouldn't do anything at all to weaken our appeal. Nothing at all to screw it up.

I worked hard for Ned Lamont this past election, and I can tell you that it's still touch and go with the vast electorate.

If the progressive left allows itself to be hijacked by idiots, it will lose us the election. Can anyone imagine what would happen if some asshole with a 9/11 conspiracy sign showed up to a Guiliani rally if he was in the running? It would make him even harder to beat.

We've got to convince these 9/11 conspiracy nuts to keep their traps shut until at least the election is won. To me, I think it's almost like they want the repukelickers to win again.

41. That's just absurd
Since when did I write that the government *always* tells the truth?

Honestly, I'm fairly convinced that 9/11 conspiracy nuts get money from the Repukes in order to discredit us before an election. It's beyond pathetic.

It's really really offensive to spout 9/11 conspiracy theories. It's the moral equivalent of posting the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Really. People should stop.

36. That's just stupid
Only an idiot would believe any conspiracy theory other than the real one: that a super rich 6'7" Saudi evil genius who hates the US for some fairly concrete reasons convinced 19 people to hijack passenger jets and fly them into the WTC because they somehow believed that some fictious deity would reward them in some equally fictitious afterlife.

The real conspiracy is so good that a person would have to be utterly retarded to think otherwise.

And really, as someone who works in the city, I consider any suggestion that 9/11 wasn't foreign religious terrorism is really insulting and offensive.

47. George W Bush provoked the 9-11 attacks.
Edited on Sat Jan-27-07 10:29 PM by liberaldemocrat7
9-11 happened over oil and gas pipelines.

Bush secretly threatened the invasion of Taliban run Afghanistan in July 2001 after months of failed pipeline negotiations with the Taliban. The Taliban did not wait for the invasion and struck us first.

No inside job.

No let it happen on purpose.

9-11: blowback for US foreign policy.

Bush provoked 9-11 and failed to defend against it.

No conspiracy, but logical result of a bitter dispute between the US and the Taliban.

23. What is insulting is this:

What happened to WTC 7? It wasn't hit by any aircraft.

NIST doesn't know but said six years ago that they were "interested in determining exactly why WTC 7 fell."

Really? I imagine that six years of research would have yielded something by now....

24. It was brought down by implosion...
and I think they said so at the time. The why of it isn't too clear. It may have been hit with debris but it was confusing at the time why they were in a rush to demolish.
