He clearly doesn't remember when Barry Goldwater went bullshit on the floor of the Senate when he found out that the CIA had LIED about mining the harbors of Manaugua's Puerto Sandino, in Nicaragua. Cap Weinberger, Reagan's Secretary of Defense (later to enjoy a pardon from Poppy Bush) said, flat out, that the US was NOT mining the harbors of Nicaragua.
Except we were.
Goldwater found out and went insane, he was so angry. He went down to the floor of the Senate and, in a fit of anger, began reading into the record the whole classified report of the CIA, in open session.
He was stopped by the Committee chairman, and then the parts he'd read into the record were expunged.
But, the cat was out of the bag, and then the US was forced to admit that the CIA, using our Navy, our SEALS, had, in fact, mined the harbors of Nicaragua.
So, the idea that the CIA doesn't lie is another of Boner's inadequacies. He's inadequate as a human being, as a Congressman, and, clearly, as a student of recent American History.
It's all in this book: "When Presidents Lie," by Eric Alterman...............
