(well, banning opposition parties does put a crimp in that strategy, but still....)

but seriously, imagine a band of bank thieves trying to duck responsibility by claiming they may have hinted at some aspect of their crimes in a disputed call to someone irrelevant. "sure we robbed all those banks, but we told our landlady that at least some of the stolen money was green, so everything's fine!"

who gives a crap what pelosi may or may not have been told? she's not a prosecutor and she's not the police. she's not even in the executive branch. congresscritters get briefed so that they can properly pass laws, NOT SO THEY CAN ENFORCE THEM -- THAT'S NOT THEIR JOB!

nevermind that the way things are set up, and the briefing was highly CLASSIFIED, there's probably a whole lot of nothing she could have done about it. as things are set up, i don't know if she could have legally referred the case to a prosecutor.

yes, i'd love our democratic leaders to stand up and give rousing speeches like dennis kucinich does, but the focus should remain squarely on the M*THERF*CKERS WHO TORTURED IN OUR NAME, WHO DECIDED TORTURE WAS A GOOD IDEA, WHO ORDERED TORTURE IN OUR NAME, AND WHO CONCOCTED LEGAL "OPINIONS" TO GIVE COVER TO TORTURE rather than on the members of the opposition party who might have been told a few things about it.

2. The thieves trip over a passing pedestrian during their escape.
The GOP would have the police use all their resources to investigate, arrest & incarcerate the pedestrian while they extol the intelligence, hard work, loyalty, integrity & dedication to the truth of the bank robbers.

8. first, it's not yet clear she lied. second, who gives a crap if she did?
she's a politicians, they all lie, it's their job.

in fact, if it involves classified information, they're REQUIRED to lie.
once upon i time, i had a secret clearance, and i had to sign documents agreeing to lie. failing to do so could result in a fine and/or imprisonment for up to 10 years.

where's the balance?

these republicans over here tortured, violating laws, treaties, and basic human decency.
this one democrat over there lied, something the average person does 10 times a day.

i'm really supposed to be upset that a politician might have lied?

6. You got it
The fact of the matter is bushco broke the law and the press are complicit in it, simple as that. So who are we going to believe the guilty parties or our blind eyes. the press has and is letting the country down, some of it could be considered treasonous I'm sure.

7. Which is why the press is trying to blame Pelosi.
They'd happily throw her, and us, to the wolves than admit how complicit they were.
