For seventeen years I've been a little obsessed with the Republican attribute of arrogance. Throughout the character assassination of Pres. Clinton, the smearing of Hillary Clinton and Al Gore I have watched them display their arrogance - with fireworks. Just today I was talking to someone about Ken Starr and I was remembering his arrogance, the arrogance of his law firm and the FBI participation in taking down Clinton - the elves who worked with the lawyers, their network for disseminating leaks - Goldberg, Isakoff, Coulter, Drudge, even Areana and thousands more.
2009 brought a different kind of arrogance. With each month that passed I was convinced that no one would attempt to do what they did and it kept growing. I was convinced that there would be a military-contractor coup by martial law. My reason for this mounting awareness was that I could not see how anyone could dispaly the arrogance they displayed if they any thought about it ending. They planned it all, put it in place, leaked what they wanted leaked and threatened (even murdered?). They defended, proseltized with frosting layers upon layers o snarky attitude.
I am obsessed with the arrogance of the men and woMAN who have nearly ruined us through their arrogance.
Imagine, a group of men friends wrote Pres. Clinton a letter in 1998 asking for an invasion of Iraq - a sovereign nation - an act of an empire. The same group paid for a full page ad to tell us how another Pearl Harbor would provide for it.
We are now living another chapter of the arrogance with the statements coming out about the torture, the contractors, the participation. Where did the their sub-leader, Dick the Drone, get their arrogance?
Imagine, they convinced the CIA, the NIA (all the N's), the FBI, certain people in the military - they convinced them to participate in torture. Then, they pretended to convince Congress (but some Dems and Republicans didn't need any convincing). They used our money to do it. They stole it. They ran a secret sub-government (just as they did during Iran-Contra - a secret 'war for corporate political action that was a kindegarten recess opportunity compared to these last nine years).
Where did that arrogance come from? They had to be under the impression that this day would never come - they must have never thought that there would be a day that they would have to be defending themselves. And that includes any Dems who particpated.
If you agree that they were arrogant or even riddle with the disease of arrogance, I invite you to observe it live goine forward and rehash the past with arrogance in mind.
