The GOP is voting on an important issue today
After all with a war in two countries, an energy crisis, an economic meltdown and a war on terror, you know the GOP is hard at work addressing the issues that will help our nation get back to where it needs to be.

(The GOP state leaders) are planning to vote today on a resolution branding Democrats the "Democrat Socialist Party"

I find myself puzzled how a party with such a keen sense of priorities and a sharp focus on our nation's interests could have ever messed up our Country in the first place.

5. Pretty sad spectacle, isn't it?
My parents would flip if they saw their shenanigans of late. They are pathetic and don't deserve our attention, except to keep tabs on what stupid moves they'll do next.

They proclaimed themselves to be so patriotic. What is patriotic about saying "No!" 100% of the time? My great-grandkids in kindergarten handle themselves better than these Congress critters.

What the **** gives them the right to change anything but their own name? If they can do that I want to have a vote to change *'s name to dipshit1, darth's name to dipshit2 steele,s name to dipshit in charge, GOP to GOPher, rummy to just that(can't think of a better one for him) lots of possibles here if this is allowed we could have a field day . most parties when they are down engage in soul searching and recreating themselves. Leave it to the GOP to double down on the behavior that got them in their current mess.

I think it might be for the better if they get it out of the way now. Right before the election, republicans started throwing out the word 'socialist' everywhere to try and scare people into voting republican. If they call us socialist for 3 years the word won't seem as scary to people who don't know what the word means. Let people get used to it for 3 years and they won't be able to use it to their advantage in 2012, when we're advertised everywhere as democratic party instead, except for faux news, but their watchers are brainwashed anyway.

I'm thinking the GOP is doing this to try to legitimize an across the board smear from their members and talking heads on the cable shows.

What will be interesting to see are two things:

1) Will members of Congress and GOPers like Scarbutt and Buchanan go along with it and use this new meme while talking about Democrats on TV? Doubt it, but maybe. No doubt we'll hear it spewed and repeated by Pigboy, et. al., but what else is new?

2) But if and when any RWers start using this "name" on TV, will the cablecritters call them out on it each and every time they try?

Anyone with 2 little kids knows that the only reason kid A calls Kid B names is because it makes Kid B cry and fuss.

If Kid B acts as if nothing happened, there's no fun in it anymore.
