Dear malevolently masturbating media motherfuckers,
What a scene you painted today. On the one hand was the first duly elected president in eight years, giving a speech in front of the actual Constitution of the United States. On the other hand is a former high level government official, now a *private citizen*, making some disgruntled remarks at the privately owned, right wing, borderline terrorist, offices of a right wing funded group.

Why did you choose to not only cover the later with the same fake gravitas as the former, but to equate them by virtue of that coverage? Are you lazy, stupid, or owned? Never mind. You are at least two of the three.

To MSNBC, specifically, shame on you. You grow closer to Politico each day. For all your vaunted 'liberal' night time lineup, you use your power not to report truth, but to catapult the right wing spew no less than you ever did. You're just more sneaky about it. That slimeball, gnome-like, motherfucker, Jack Welch clearly still holds sway at 30 Rock. Shame on you. You're the worst of the worst. Faux, at least, does not pretend what they are. YOU DO.

To NBC, see above.

To ABC, you got nothin'. Charlie Gibson? He sucked in the morning. He sucks worse at night.

To CBS, ask yourself why the kids on South Park measure the potency of turds in Courics.

But today ..... all of you ...... outdid yourselves. You put that draft dodging, not-near-enough-to-death, snarling WAR CRIMINAL on the same level as a decent man who was actually elected by the majority of voters to lead this country.

Shame on you all.

73. "The media is as liberal as it's corporate masters."
However, I will take KO, Maddow and Shultz anytime over what Faux is spewing. Yes, they still are controlled by their corporate masters, but apparently, since those corporate masters got what they wanted (neverending war to make mucho buckos) some, I mean some, are allowing the "little people" to have a sounding board, like KO and Maddow, to identify with said outrage. I appreciate that KO has beating the war drums (even when * was still in office) how we are losing our freedoms, how they were going against the Constitution, how they tortured. But, those corporate masters drowned anyone out who questioned going to war with Iraq, questioned what really happened on 9/11, questioned the swift boat liars. They give access when they feel that their goals have been achieved, then take it away.

Now not all of the populace have access to MSNBC, so it does less damage to the powers that be, unlike Faux. Faux is a very dangerous network, I believe. How many of the populace realized that Faux won a court case determining that they can LIE to the American public? I have been at the automotive center, a bar and even the hospital waiting room, with nothing but a FAUX station on. We, the people, should have been not only boycotting, but protesting such a station a long, long time ago. And, their talking heads, were and still are nothing but * cheerleaders (or Cheney), catapulting the neo-con agenda-spreading fear and ignorance to the general population. A complicit media has done more damage to this country, than I think some of the politicians. Why do I say this? Because a corrupt politician cannot get elected without the access and endorsement of the media. It is the media who can make a mountain out of a molehill and vice versa. Before * was selected how did the media treat his alleged insider trading, his military record, his other business dealings, his investigations, I believe, that were happening at the time of his campaigning (Federal investigations into his head of Dept. of Labor and Dept of Housing) two departments that he directly appointed. What we heard over and over again was Gore was a liar (see how easy it was for those in the media to fabricate that Gore stated he invented the internet) and * was a man of God, a man ya'll just wanted to have a beer with. And, why do most of the populace have certain perceptions, because the media and PR firms SELL the illusion to us for the corporate master's agenda.

7. Cheney shot himself in the face today.
I was furious to see the war criminal doing a faux reprise, post Obama. But after digesting the charade I realized that by comparison, Cheney did himself a big disfavor. The juxtaposition revealed a schism in genuine virtue a mile across.

I know which side of the Constitution we stand.

But Cheney also uses speechwriters: John McConnell is Cheney's chief speechwriter; but he's also used David Frum and Michael Gerson, who wrote mainly for Bush.

21. Can't recommend this enough! Still, I recommend NOT watching TV spews AT ALL.
What do you EXPECT of those plastic manikins masquerading as "informed" people? Formed, yeah, but "informed"?? You think their JOB is to INFORM the public in any way that might empower it against the interests of the corporate/state? GIVE ME A FRIGGN' BREAK! They are there TO SELL: They are there sell us a consumerist perception of reality; they are there to sell the ILLUSION of a functioning, democratic republic; they are there to KEEP HIDDEN everything they don't want you to know and see. Oh, yes, they do air "controversy" so long as that controversy is controlled, contained. As Chomsky said, "The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum - even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate." The corporate owned and controlled media is the biggest propaganda system ever to exist on Earth -- why anyone would willingly give these manikins access to one's own intelligence is beyond my comprehension.

76. Yes . . . but that idea didn't appeal to them until a short time ago . . .
You have to keep in mind the right wing has been very willing to lose money

on publications and broadcasting -- where NBC actually dumped their #1 show/Phil Donahue --

in order to keep anything liberal/truthful from being heard.

Suddeny -- about 18 months/2 years ago/? MSNBC made this opening?

I really thought they were seeing that their bread and butter was changing hands --

and maybe hoped also to knock off Jon Stewart?

Schultz and Maddow, I think added a lot of icing to the "we're not really against you"

statement to the new administration????

NBC/GE makes a lot of war weapons -- Pentagon contracts --

Plus, they control a lot of media -- anti-trust/monolpoly laws???

45. TV in the garbage can. .
I won a battle against a terrorist yesterday!........ DIRECT TV!
For 2 years I had a bundle, phone, internet, tv.........with verizen at a price i could afford..until Fairpoint bought verizon. In Feb. dtv started billing separately FOR JUST ONE MONTH I THOUGHT! ( they were not clear on the phone, played a verbal shell game about that & "local network" stations. ( They were actually charging me for NY, LA, Bangor, ( the place where new graduates of communication school go to start their careers for $100. per week!) which jumped the fee by 16. a month....and THEY LET IT GO FOR 4 MONTHS WITH ME THINKING THE PHONE COMPANY WAS PAYING THEM! WHen it came to my attention.I paid them 122.?? in early MAy AND THEY SAID....... they thought I could put it on pause ( NO MONTHLY FEE) but they lied and charged me for MAY, & will turn it off unless I pay them another $148.?? by the 26th of MAy
YES THEY wanted 1/3 of my monthly SS income; couldn't wait another 7 days, JUST SEVEN DAYS!
SO I said "FINE; TERMNATE ME"...........they will send me a postage paid box, even tho I have clogged my storage space with the original box the equipment came in......to return their stuff. THEN they want that $148.?? if I don't cough it up they will REMOVE IT FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT WITH THE DEBIT CARD NUMBER THEY SAVED FOR 2 1/2 YEARS, even tho they promised they wouldn't. DISH TV did this to me in 2007!
So with the full assistance of my small local bank..I closed out my account! ( I didn't even have 100. let alone 148.
1/2 of my stimulus went to these bastards.................I will pay the balance AT A TIME AND AMOUNT OF MY CHOOSING! ( $10.00 per month)
WHen I called Senotors Collins and Snowe to report "ELDER ABUSE, and told COllin's aid that THEY should be paying ME $69. per month
for having to watch di ck cheney...HE roared!
Bottom line I have an art grant. with a july 26 deadline I need paintbrushes and canvass stretchers...I am painting until 10.pm at night ad have to remove the Tv from my gallery space......... so D tv is directly oppositional to MY FREEDOM TO PURSUE LIFE LIBERTY & HAPPINESS!
SO goodby Keith & Rachael............only option left is Time Warner cable and I don't trust them either! ( THEY DON"T CARRY MSNBC!)
I guess I'll get a lot of artwork done next winter when I am virtually snowed in and can't afford the drool tube!
Thing about TV watching is it leaves my hands free unlike inernet with intimate involement with the keyboard & mouse,
Of course they have to starve we elders out we can't be propagandized by virtue of inablilit y to pay for the propaganda machine! ANd we REMEMBER WHEN TV WAS FREE AND ENTERTAINING! They actually used to pay talent to produce shows! ANd news was a recounting of the days events NOT BLOW!

that were guilty of this. I was surfing TV news channels yesterday and cannot believe how every time that I hit BBC World, the prick was speaking ... I can't stand him and immediately moved on each time so I don't know whether President Obama even got equal time. So even the heretofore "Venerable Beeb" is guilty of this. There must be something about the "special relationship" that causes even fairly level-headed Brits to go bananas.

Equating the first fairly-elected US President in eight years and who really is trying a) to find an effective way out of and b) to manage the hydra-like disasters that were created/exacerbated by a corrupt and criminal administration with the War-Criminal-Torture-Authorizer-In-Chief ... yeah, that's really using the noodle, knucklehead media whores! :wow:

49. Wow. The media are a bunch of whores.
I think you've uncovered it! The media are a bunch of whores looking for ratings and advertising, and owned almost exclusively by the people hell bent on making a buck on this country's ruin! They are the ultimate carpetbaggers! Why it's... it's... so... obvious! Why didn't any of us SEE this before?! Are we blind? It's been right in front of us the whole time and we NEVER, EVER saw it! Cue double facepalm in 3... 2... 1... OUCH!

Pardon the snark, but you are right on the money. I just find it irritating that it must be pointed out constantly that 2 + 2 = 4. That anyone needs this explained to them anymore fills me with premonitions which resemble 'Idiocracy'. I saw this and had to ask myself, "8 years, and Cheney stepped in front of a camera maybe, what? Twice? Three times at most? Now I can't get him off of my television." What, all of a sudden, Cheney feels like he needs to get out more? If the media had an ounce of credibility, they'd be trying to put him back in his little box, not taking him out and parading his shit during someone else's Presidency.

52. Amen, Stinky! Can you imagine if, a few months after W got in the WH,

Gore made a speech similar to that made by the Dick? Would the media cover that?

And I wish they'd stop referring to the Dick as the Vice President.

58. On NBC News
They started with the Cheney speech and then the last segment of the broadcast was about how the 30 million dollar machines installed in Airports don't work and are being removed. Without a hint of the irony that it was Bush/Cheney who spent all that money that did not, in fact, keep us safe. They never connected the dots.

61. KR - Role of media is to lobby for their corporate sponsors, not public service.
Journalism is 100% dead and rotting in the ground, replaced by a new breed of corporate shillery.

Philadelphia Inquirer hired John Yoo as permanent staff. GE, Health care, investment banks, oil companies pay big cash to advertise, they demand a return on their investment. All these companies would appoint Cheney and Bush (or their clones) as leaders for life.

The media has no better way to pull in more cash than to torture us at the behest of their sponsors. They are just following orders.
