This to me is extremely disappointing, and has left me in a major funk. I assume at this point that there is no plan to end these two illegal wars at all. No one even talks about it anymore, except to say that it's the longest war America has ever had, if you don't count the war on drugs.

Very, very disappointing. I guess maybe I just set my standards too high, and then I set myself up for disappointment.

I know someone will say, 'be patient, these things take time and diplomacy', I respectfully say 'bullshit'.

1. It doesn't have to continue. Our shrinking "multi-national coalition" in Afghanistan will come
to a decision point for Obama. I hope he ceases with BOTH occupations. We can station troops on the periphery in "fairly friendly countries" but not in either Afghanistan or Iraq.

2. Yes, but we have them cornered now
Sooner or later, Bush and Cheney will have to surrender to authorities, and then the war will be over.

3. follow the money. no, they wont end.
dont count on the MSM to tell the american public the real reasons for these occupations, they have too much corporate interest at stake, too, in the Military Industrial Complex.

6. Goodness we don't worry about that. That $$$ just comes out of thin air.
Off-budget stuff doesn't cost anything. Now single-payer healthcare is an extravagance we just can't afford. :sarcasm:
