3. As abhorrent as it is to acknowledge, he's absolutely correct....
This is the modus operandi of one empire after another, creating war to take control of resources. It's gone on since the beginning of man's emergence on this planet and will probably continure until the end of his existence.

4. In "Death of a Ball Turret Gunner" the WWII poet Randall Jarrel constructs a metaphor in which
the ball turret on the bottom of a bomber is the womb of the State.

Also read the WWI poet Wilfred Owen on this lovely Memorial Day http://www.everypoet.com/archive/poetry/Wilfred_Owen/wilfred_owen_contents.htm

7.  "The United States of America understood that Iraq was a central front in the war on terror"
"I like to tell people when the final history is written on Iraq, it will look like just a comma."
- George W. Bush, September 24, 2006

"When this chapter of history will be written . . . it's going to be a comma -- the Iraqis voted, comma, and the United States of America understood that Iraq was a central front in the war on terror and helped this young democracy flourish."
- George W. Bush, October 3, 2006

8. Thankfully we do not have to endure
any more of that mental stumblebum's pearls of wisdom any more. I am thankful for that.
