3. What a gorgeous house. If I could afford something like that,
I'd go for it.

But I guess that would mean I'd then have to turn in my Democratic/Progressive membership card to the wealth police.

7. His 'kid' brother still is
Guess only guys born rich get a pass on living well? Self made men & women seem to earn a lot of trouble around here.

Anybody by me remember those comparisons of Hillary and how she got her money as opposed to how other politically connected women got theirs'? Hillary got hers the hard way, she earned it. And boy, did the right give her shit.

Martha too. She went to jail for doin what well heeled white guys have done for generations... Actually, she went to jail for a lot less. But she made money herself and evidently, that is some sort of unforgivable sin in America.

We don't get to choose our parents. We do get to choose where we put our efforts in life. Advocates for the poor do not have to start poor nor do they have to remain poor. They do have to ADVOCATE FOR THE POOR.

10. Isn't the Kennedy summer cottage awesome? I'd love to move
there, its beautiful there. But, yet, they're rich and they should give more of their money away--preferably to me because I'm poor. I'm not running for any office, so I'd say 30,000 sq. ft. should be just about right for me and my two tiny dogs.

12. I mourned the loss of Bobby Kennedy,
it was crushing. He would have been my choice for President.

Was he a saint? Of course not. Did he lead a perfect or near perfect life. Of course not.

Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Anger, Envy, and Pride. The fabled "Seven Deadly Sins". We've all dabbled in them to one extent or another. So did Bobby Kennedy.

Martin Luther King, another hero of mine, probably got a blowjob in a motel room somewhere while his wife was at home. If I got a picture of that, could I show it to my wife to assure her she shouldn't be so concerned about my own infidelity?

Both of these men were better than most, but not perfect. They were flawed, just as we all are, but they had fewer flaws than most. It's unreasonable to expect perfection from any human, and to hold up one of their flaws, big or small, as vindication for our own failings is just wrong. King's affairs and Kennedy's mansion are not indicators of why we revere these men. They are not why I remember them.

When, exactly, does flirting become Lust? That's a very grey and subjective matter, known only to the flirter. But we do know that on one side of that indistinct line is fidelity and somewhere on the other side is infidelity.

What size house indicates Gluttony? Another grey and subjective matter, known only to the buyer. But we do know that one side of that indistinct line is appropriate and the other side is excessive.

John Edwards has a lot of money. Does he spend it the same way someone might expect Jesus Christ to spend it? Of course not. It's obvious. He fails in that department just as most who have ever lived failed in that department. Some fail more than most, some less. He's a better man than I, and if the primary was today I'd give him my vote. In spite of his huge house. In spite of it.
