I know we have UN and NATO but neither are really much of a Police Force especially if the USA is not involved. Should there be International Laws that are Enforced by a World Police? Without such a recognized authority what right does the USA or any other country have to intercept shipping traffic to inspect for anything. To me it would be an act of war if some "country" boarded our ships on the high seas and inspected it's cargo. I suppose we could call piracy an act of war if we declared "war" on pirates, but why should we have the ability to board ships and pirates don't?

1. INTERPOL serves the purpose quite well.
As for pirates, that should be left to the coordinated efforts of the various navies.

2. NO. The solution to these problems should not be another, bigger, problem.
We can scarcely manage to protect our rights from local, then state, then federal level police.

The last thing I want is one more, even larger, police force to worry about.

Our existing customs agents, border patrols, coast guards, etc., just need more support and a clearer mission.

And global industries can go to hell and protect themselves in international waters.

3. How about a World Clown Troupe?
Seltzer and creme pies would be in the arsenal.

8. The US should not be allowed anywhere near an international police force - except as perps under
investigation or arrest. At least, not until we show that we respect and will honor international laws (e.g., torture, etc.).
