Nixon, Kissinger Knew Vietnam Was Unwinnable But Their Plan Was To Blame The Democrats
http://www.playfuls.com/news_10_22483-Nixon-Kissinger-Found-Vietnam-Unwinnable.html

A new book on former U.S. President Richard Nixon and his Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said the two men thought the Vietnam War was "impossible" to win.

But while admitting to each other that the war was not possible to win, Nixon and Kissinger also agreed to label the Democrats "the party of surrender" for wanting to pull out of Vietnam, said historian Robert Dallek in "Nixon and Kissinger: Partners in Power," the New York Daily News reported. snip

The Daily News said that other revelations in the book include Nixon telling another aide that Kissinger might need "psychiatric help," and that Kissinger often tried to keep Nixon from major foreign affairs decisions because he feared Nixon was drunk.

1. Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it
It's obvious that this is *'s game, he learned from the worst.

2. Republicans aren't very smart but they sure are arrogant. They
either don't know that in the end the truth will come out, or they just plain don't care. I rather think it's that they just don't care.

3. I think they just plain shut their mind to new things.
I am over 70 and let me tell you their are many people like that. In college it almost drove the teachers up the walls. You do not have to change your mind about a thing but one should let it come into your mind in the first place. Many people will not let that happen. They just shut their minds.

4. Winnable
Did President Johnson and Secretary of Defense McNamara think that it was winnable? They were the ones that blew it up into a full scale war.
