C-SPAN Washington Journal this morning...who here thinks if Mr. Griffin was a DEMOCRAT he would have
Edited on Wed Apr-04-07 11:21 AM by in_cog_ni_to
been given free rein in Iraq? Who here thinks Cindy Sheehan would have been picked up by 2 Apache helicopters and taken to Kirkuk (was it?)? Who here thinks the military in Iraq would have embraced and taken care of Cindy Sheehan?

For those who didn't see the show this morning a man, Mr. Griffin, lost his 20 year old son in Iraq. He decided to go to Iraq, on his own, to see what was 'really' going on. The military picked the man up in an apache helicopter followed by another for safety (our tax dollars being wasted) and took him to a base and took care of him while he was there. He ate at the mess halls, traveled the country talking to mostly Kurds and found out that things are just peachy keen in Iraq. He was there for 2 weeks and took pictures ONLY of things that weren't blown to bits.

What a pathetic piece of PROPAGANDA that was. The man doesn't think Bush lied! He doesn't think we're doing anything wrong by staying there. He thinks we MUST remain in Iraq to "free" the people. C-SPAN and Steve really laid it on thick this morning.:(

1. true

a lot of the callers thought he was a plant too. and some callers pinned the host to the table asking, in so many words, if he was a neo con - had to laugh.

2. So how does he reconcile his son's death with the flowers and candy?
I didn't catch that segment on CSPAN...

First of all, I don't wish to diss a parent that's lost a child whether it's due to accident or war. At the same time it just seems to me that his agenda to "see" was a mission to confirm beliefs he already held.

4. He's a repuke and basically admitted it.
That's the ONLY reason the military let him in the country.

He said the soldiers he talked to wanted to stay in Iraq and finish their job.:eyes: He also said that anytime he brought up 'politics' at home, he was told, in not so many words, to just shut up...they didn't want to hear anything about politics. They just wanted to do the job they were there to do. Not one soldier told him he wanted to get out of Iraq.:eyes: I wonder if those were hand picked by the General in charge?

Mr. Griffin, OBVIOUSLY, didn't see the Army Times poll where the MAJORITY of soldiers wanted to get the hell out of there.

8. pffft!! "Not one soldier told him he wanted to get out of Iraq"
and from the sound of it he would have made a bee line to that soldier's commander if they had.

Thanks for the info!

3. Who also would be sitting there for
more than 30 minutes without any phone calls...Scully is a damn liar he is a republiCON and he is always at some type of republiCON function. He has also been picked to be the head of some press club. You can tell from the expressions on his face when dems call and he reaches for that button when they are giving out some real info. He always lets the old "he is a godly man person" have as much time as they want to talk about nothing but how they love Bush...

5. I noticed how he let Mr. Griffin talk and talk and talk and talk. He took how many phone calls?
3-4-5? Not very many! It was so obviously a propaganda segment...it made me sick.

7. Have you ever noticed that repukes get the last word on The SPAN's WJ?
Especially when Peter and Steve are hosting.

9. Have you also noticed how...
when a republicon says something that we know will be responded to by a Democrat, they jump to reading newspapers. Today I noticed that scully was reading this one story in the first hour and then after a repug said something he read the same story again...
