Limbaugh is playing the MSM like a violin.
You know, this greasy gas-bag tried to make it on TV several years ago and failed miserably. After several weeks, it was apparent to anyone who bothered to watch that he had neither the personality or the disposition to deal with the spontaneous give-and-take of a live show. Without someone to "screen the callers" and allow only the dittoheads the honor of an audience with his oleaginous majesty, El Rushbo fell flat on his anal cyst! For the same reason, I believe he appeared ONCE on the Letterman show and left pouting because they picked on him---i.e., dared to question his knowledge, integrity and good intentions.

So why am I seeing his ugly mug on the TV screen several times an evening? Recently, it's been video of him trashing Judge Sotomayor and Obama on his daily radio broadcast. Waving his arms, tugging the front of his shirt out of his cleavage and spewing into the public airwaves his bigoted, mean-spirited nonsensical tripe. It's bad enough seeing this moral pygmy on Wolf Blitzer's show or the MSM news shows. But, it is especially grating to see him on Hardball, Countdown or Rachel's program.

Yes, I know he recently challenged MSNBC to omit him from their broadcasts for a month, implying that they were "using" him to prop up their ratings. In response, Olberman has added a "bouncy-bouncy icon" of him at the bottom corner of the screen. Making fun of him is fine, but do we really need to give him a forum to repeat his outrages? Even when they are labelled as outrages, they are nonetheless broadcast to an additional audience that would not have seen or heard him but for the "isn't it terrible what Rush said today?" clips.

Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Malkin and their ilk have yet to contribute anything positive to the national discussion about any topic. They peddle fear, hatred, prejudice and their own inflated sense of self-worth. No one should be helping them advertise or promote their narrow and arrogant world-views. Networks and programs who do so should hear from us.

They've heard from me.

5. Due to the light being shone on these assholes you speak of
they are not going to last much longer, pillboy or any of them. For the most part Americans are waking up to the hate.

6. Limbaugh *always* does that. Whenever he gets tagged which is often and he just hates...
He ramps up this 'If it weren't for me the whole world would stop turning' bullshit. Challenging these numbers those numbers but it's all just hucksterisms that's all. Just the latest in a long line of sick-sad carnival midway barkers & snake oil

I hear you on the 'bouncy thing', but it portrays Limbaugh's random self-absorption pretty good even if it is a little creepy :scared:

7. Exposure is good - why do you think the asswipe is no longer on TV
It's like when you turn the light on a bunch of cockroaches before they can scatter back under the sink - makes it easier to smoosh 'em.

BTW I like your description of limpballs "tugging the front of his shirt out of his cleavage".

8. I'll paraphrase a teacher of mine here
Way back when El Rushbo was coming up, in the dark ages of Reagan

He's ignored at our peril, he is Coughlin II and some day w will be sorry nobody exposed him.

That is my answer.

By the way my prof was right.

9. Every once in a while someone knowledgable about radio..
Sneaks through his call screeners and tears him a new one on the air.

I've heard it happen once and I'm pretty sure it was a woman who is a radio personality here in Atlanta, she reduced el Rushbo to a stuttering, quivering lump of jelly on his own show.

It was epic WIN!

11. Several people have responded with that same point of view.
I understand where you're coming from, but it is not you or someone with your degree of interest and political involvement that concerns me.

Millions of people in this country voted for Bush---TWICE! Many are basically nice folks, they just take a nod, smile and "Whatever" approach to politics. If they hear one commentator on TV say that Sonya Sotomayor is an experienced, capable, thoughtful judge and a nice person to boot and then hear Pigboy squealing about how she's a reverse racist, unqualified, liberal activist who will write her own laws, they figure it's a toss-up. "Who ya' gonna believe?" they'll ask, shaking their heads and smiling all the while.

If, come next election, we lose just half these folks votes, we're in deep doo-doo. At this site, we sometimes forget that not everyone who is not a Republican shares the full scope of our liberal views. These are the folks Joe Bageant wrote about in "Deer Hunting With Jesus", which I recommend to anyone who wants to understand folks to whom cheese means Velveeta and who are being actively courted, with lies, by the extreme right.

So, while I do see your point, I still believe the best response to this attention-junky is to ingnore him.

13. Well, yeah, I agree that W was not elected---
but he sure as hell occupied the White House for eight years! And, enough of the people referenced in my post voted for the jerk to make the elections "close enough to steal".

Thanks for your interest.
