I belonged to an online charity crafting group that (among other projects) made burial gowns for stillborn babies. It was a great comfort to the mother to know that someone cared enough to do that. Considering the tragic circumstances that result in late-term abortions, there is very little practical or substantive difference between these abortions and a stillbirth.

It's NOT like Dr. Tiller was wantonly aborting normal full-term babies...that's just the official BIG LIE of the so-called "pro-life" movement.

46. Empty arms syndrome.
When I was still in the Navy, we had a program at one of the hospitals to address the overwhelming sadness encountered by the parents/family members who lost an infant due to stillbirth (we didn't perform abortions). Part of the protocol including making extra footprints for the parents, taking photos of the baby (looked like it was sleeping), visits from other people who had lost children. We always offered the parents an opportunity to hold the baby if they wanted to (and most did).
It was a successful program and we received a lot of positive feedback from the parents.

These were wanted babies-they were severely deformed and had to be aborted at a late developmental stage. That is one of the reasons the parents and/or loved ones would want to hold them-

these are not "last-minute, don't-want-the-baby" decisions that freakers keep harping about.

their assholery is without peer. I would love some of the men over there to be women for nine months and have to go through this to see what it is like for them-freakers never seem to understand anything unless it happns to them. I keep wondering why these clinics aren't in places like L.A. or New York -- why are they out in the boondocks? (i.e., Kansas, Nebraska?)

I would think they'd be safer in a larger city? no? They sort of stand out like a sore thumb in places such as Kansas.

Scared, pregnant teenage girls don't always (hardly ever I imagine) have the means to travel to the Blue Lands to get their procedures done. Were it not for the valorous doctors and nurses who brave the hatred every day, these girls would have no one.

40. Because it is not so easy to travel to NY or CA. Used to be those were the only
states you could get a legal abortion in. It was really difficult to get there for many. Hence more women were dying of illegal ones.

screen shots be taken of things like this at freerepublic. Then the next time one of these kooks is arrested and the site is scrubbed we will have the proof.

I use a program called Snagit that takes a screen shot of the whole page.

I sometimes kick around the idea of collecting some of the more "interesting" posts from freepland and making them into a montage video. I think such a thing might be useful if it went viral at the right time in a campaign. Of course I have no video editing skills, but I think it's a nifty idea all the same.
