Santorum's Dating Advice
Can this guy be any more insulting? :grr:

http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2009_06/018448.php

SANTORUM'S ADVICE.... Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R) of Pennsylvania/Virginia may have been roundly rejected by his constituents in 2006, but he's still able to voice his thoughts at a variety of news outlets. This week, Santorum seems to be in an advice-giving mood.

Today, for example, Santorum has an item for the Politico, advising Senate Republicans on how to approach the Sonia Sotomayor nomination. The advice isn't very good.

More laughable, however, is Santorum's dating advice for the president and his wife. Alex Koppelman posted this transcript from Santorum's appearance last night on Fox News, where the First Couple's date night over the weekend is a matter of great interest.

"Number one, I think it's great that the president has a date night with his wife. He's a role model. He's a role model in particular, whether he likes it or not, in the African-American community.

"And you have an African-American community, particularly in the poor inner city areas, we're looking at out of wedlock birthrates in three quarters to 75 percent {sic} of children being born out of wedlock. Marriage is an institution that's a bridge too far for too many African-American woman and is not desirable among African-American males.

"Here we have a president of the United States who says that marriage is cool. You have respect for your wife, and you treat her with the respect and dignity that she deserves. And she is part of this team. And it's not just part of professional team, but it's also part of a personal, romantic team. I think that's all great. So I think it's important that he keeps having his date night.

"I think he has to realize that flying to New York is self-indulgent. Go down to the corner bar and have a drink, a shot and a beer. It does not matter where you go with your wife, is that it's with your wife. That's really the point... I would make the argument, the simpler the date, the more normal it is.... {I}t is mundane that really makes the marriage special, but because you are with your wife the mundane isn't mundane. It's special."

I'm not sure which part of this is the most ridiculous -- Santorum's condescending attitude, his errors about African-American families, his apparent belief that he's qualified to give dating advice to the president, or the fact that this discredited former senator continues to be a fixture at major news outlets.

But also comedy gold.

Yeah, Ricky- we all want the creepy-ass Stepford family thing you've got going on:

On edit... His wife DOES look like she could use a drink or 3. Go 'head Rick- take her down to the corner bar to get tanked.

4. Imagine.....POTUS takes FLOTUS to the corner bar. Santorum walks
in and sits by them and even before a drink has been consumed, Santorum in his smarmy manner starts to talk to Michelle so she decks him. Nah, this isn't going to end well for Santorum, that's why he's a loser. BTW, when's the last time he took his wife to a corner bar? Milquetoast POS....

9. Jeebus. I'll bet that sent chills up Michelle's spine.
It did mine. And, as with family planning, it couldn't be more appropriate for that provileged white skeezer to be commenting on the state of Black America.

While most Republicans are content to have a simple stick up their ass, Santorum insists on a flag pole.

11. You know what else is self-indulgent? Billing a struggling school district in PA

for your precious kiddies' cyber-schooling when you don't live there. Of course, we also paid for travel expenses so that W could take a record setting number of vacation days.

Once again Republicans have TWO different sets of rules for themselves and for Democrats.
