Bill Maher: America Is Greedy, Not Good
Posted on May 31, 2009

The “Real Time” host takes exception to American exceptionalism, the idea that Americans are unique and superior despite a penchant for poisoning, imprisoning and killing each other just to make a buck:

“We do it all to each other—the killing and the keeping people sick and poor and in jail and destroying their habitat—because a generation ago Ronald Reagan and Gordon Gekko told us greed was good.”

1. Well Bill
Why don't you donate the bulk of your salary to the treasury or to charities. Just keep what you need to live on. Practice what you preach. That is if you're serious. Anything else is rhetoric to enrich your ass. And Yes I'm in a mood.

3. He was good. It would be great if he were serious
and we all know he is not serious about this. Nice of him to end this sensible "rule" with a pitch to fatten his pockets by watching him at Vegas.

6. That was part of the joke

My father always said, everyone in this world is a hypocrite. My father included himself in that statement.

Maher was pointing out his own hypocrisy.

One of the most profound statements in the Bible is remove the beam out of your own eye before you remove the speck from your brother's.
