Crazy Fundie Alert: AFA says Totally Gay Pepsi advertises in "semi-pornographic" gay magazine
 They've kicked up the crazy a notch.....

from the American Family Assn:

PepsiCo supports gay magazine with advertising
Company sends an "in your face" message to those opposing gay marriage

June 2, 2009

Taking an "in your face" approach, PepsiCo sent a public message of support for the homosexual agenda. The company ran a full-page ad in the June/July issue of Out, a semi-pornographic homosexual magazine. The magazine is filled with page after page of nude and semi-nude photographs of men in suggestive positions.

AFA has asked PepsiCo to be neutral in the culture war, including homosexual marriage, but the company has consistently refused to do so. The ad supporting Out was a clear indication that the company is standing fast in its support of the homosexual agenda.

Consider these actions:

* PepsiCo is a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. (Ford, McDonald’s and Wal-Mart withdrew from the NGLCC when asked to do so. PepsiCo refused)
* PepsiCo requires its members to attend diversity training classes promoting the acceptance of homosexuality.
* PepsiCo financially supports "gay pride parades" in cities across America.
* PepsiCo gave a total of $1,000,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). HRC gave hundreds of thousands of dollars in an effort to legalize homosexual marriage in California.
* PepsiCo uses its TV commercials to promote the homosexual lifestyle.

Take Action!
* Call PepsiCo's Board of Directors Concern Line at 1-866-626-0633 and tell the board of directors that you are boycotting PepsiCo and asking others to do the same. If there is no answer or you get a recording, stay on the line until a live operator comes on.
* Sign the Boycott Pepsi Pledge. After signing the pledge, please call Pepsi (914-253-2000 or 1-800-433-2652) and tell the company you will boycott its products until it stops promoting the homosexual agenda.
* Call the Pepsi bottler nearest you and ask it to stop supporting the homosexual agenda.
Pepsi’s products include Pepsi soft drinks, Frito-Lay chips and snacks (800-352-4477), Quaker Oats (800-367-6287), Tropicana (800-237-7799) and Gatorade (800-884-2867).
* Print the Boycott Pepsi Pledge and distribute it.
* Forward this e-mail to your friends and family so they will know about Pepsi’s support of the homosexual agenda. Millions of people are not aware of Pepsi’s support of homosexual organizations.

5. I get these Pepsi emails all the time
and laugh, part of it is the AFA is based in Mississippi, and everything is Coke down there to begin with. Why would the support a company like PepsiCo based in New York? The gay freak outs are just icing on the  cake.

6. I'm gonna start buying Pepsi....
simply because the fundy nuts don't like what the company supports. And I encourage all other GLBT-friendly people to buy it as well.

11. Pepsi Throwback!!!
Made with natural sugar! Tasty, and mixes great with a good bourbon. Wild Turkey 101 + Pepsi Throwback + good shake of Peychaud's bitters = YUM!

8. As if Pepsi doesn't advertise in Playboy or Esquire
both of which are filled with page after page of nude or semi-nude women. And I'll bet plenty of AFA types are regular subscribers to at least one of them (Playboy). Fucking hypocrites.

9. we live in a VERY RED area and hubby was at the machine buying a Pepsi one night
(hubby is very supportive of GLBT rights thanks to my educating him over the last few years)

a maintenance guy was standing there and said "Don't buy that!!! Pepsi supports the GAYS!!"

hubby just looked at him and said "I want a soda" and now every time the maintenance guy is standing there (a couple times a week) hubby buys TWO pepsis and just gives the guy a 'look'

16. Yes... actually it's a pretty decent magazine...
... I've bought a couple of copies over the last few years because of their in-depth music reviews/interviews.
