An Extremely Interesting Documentary "My Brilliant Brain: Born Genius"
Edited on Wed Jun-03-09 03:31 AM by armyowalgreens
I just finished this 45 minute documentary on the workings of the brain and how nature and nurture really affects development. It follows the story of a 7 year old piano prodigy. The film also discusses the 1970 case of a 13 year old girl who spent her entire childhood locked to a chair in her room as well a a few other case studies.

They even discuss the effects of early childhood ( younger than 3) brain exercise on IQ.

It helped me better understand how I should raise my future children.

It seems that this may help one understand why someone thinks the way they think. Maybe one day we'll be able to figure out why people are liberal or conservative. Not only that, but it also addresses the issues of undereducated minority and special needs children and how our "abandonment" affects their brains.

3. More Meishay, less Marc
This documentary spends far too much time fawning over Marc's innate gift and far too little explaining how Meishay's success was assured by early education.
