5. Funny, I remember Rush talking about how car companies here were putting out crap in the 70's
a statement with which I agree. Of course he never put the blame in any one place; didn't want to rile the CEOs and sure didn't want to inflame the Reagan Dems. But thanks to people like Roger Smith of GM American car companies have been dying since the 70's. Some of them were just too stupid to realize it.

6. I once heard that even a Toyota made stateside...
Has an extra $3000 or more in taxes added to it just to be fair to American auto manufacturers. Not sure where I heard or read it but the main point of the discussion was that the American auto makers during the Bush administration wanted the government to raise the tax more on Toyotas and other foreign companies as a form of protectionism.

9. why is he not blaming seatbelts, emission standards, and safety technology?
surely that killed GM! After all, GM fought tooth and nail to prevent us from getting those things, forcing us to look abroad for those nasty technologies.

Of course fatso never let facts get in the way of a chance to act like an asshole.

11. Of course - it was a way to get back at those who didn't donate to
Obama and other Dem candidates.

They will believe anything. I know longer wonder that a man like Jim Jones could pull off what he did.
