On Monday, Bill O'Reilly boldly defended his vicious attacks on the late Dr. George Tiller. "No backpedaling here," he told viewers. "Everything we said about Tiller was true."

Two days later, it seems O'Reilly is, in fact, backpedaling. On Tuesday night he claimed his previous references to George Tiller as "the baby killer" were merely standard reporting.

"I reported what groups were calling him. I reported accurately." The host then went on to 'report' the number of abortions Tiller had performed and estimated the doctor's income at a million dollars a year. (O'Reilly is paid over $10 million a year.

My guess is that he has talked to his lawyer who advised him that he is in big trouble. What he said..are you ready...is...defined as libel and threatening...probably a law suit is coming...

1. I doubt the Tiller family will be as easy to silence as his former producer was.
His comeuppance has been a long time coming.

5. This could be one of the ugliest law suits ever...as Billo tries to
defend himself from himself and his rhetoric. Can you see O'Rilley saying in court that he was just reporting when the venom in his eyes is exploding on the screen. I would like to be in that jury room 5 or 6 years from now when they all agree this nutcase was calling for his murder. Yes, his day will come..

7. It'll be fun to watch O'Reilly cry
when the Tiller family takes all of his assets. Legally.

Hey, Bill: Words mean things, don't they?

8. He is just doing this to protect himself
He realizes how much he focused on Tiller on his show and how his comments could be seen as incendiary. Now he is just trying to cover his ass.

10. There should be consequences for his libelous slandering that gave cover
to Tiller's murderer. I hope the Tiller family ends up owning NewsCorp.

14. Bottom line, every issue is always about O'Reilly.
(Olbermann can at times be guilty of this, too.)

O'Reilly is always right. He tries to get people to listen to reason! He tries to give them their history lessons! The rabble who disagree with him are always "fanatics" with track record a mile long of deceit, dishonesty, plagiarism, blah blah blah. And calling women he disagrees with "Madam" isn't fooling anyone. In O'Reilly's world it's just a polite word for "bitch."
