How to render a Republic speechless...
Remind him or her about Bush's plan to put Social Security into the markets.

Ask them if that still sounds like a good idea....

3. You mean 401K SS?
The Republican's would still find a way to blame a Democrat - their favorite target is Bill Clinton but it is fast becoming Obama--- Haven't you heard, Obama created this mess.

All of it.

GM? Obama's fault.

Economy and jobs tanking? Obama but it was first brought on my Bill Clinton ---

They wouldn't know a good idea if it fucking smashed them in the head....

They would probably say if we had used the markets to back SS, everyone would be millionaires.

6. Keep them away from Hate Radio for a few days.

They won't know what they are supposed to say ... or even what to think.

10. SS into the markets?
Most of the posts that I have read by conservatives, on the subject, is that they want to COMPLETELY eliminate SS along with every other socialist government "entitlement" programs, especially by those who are young enough to not have been employed for very long. One young woman even posted that although she loved her mother, she did not want to indirectly support her SS funded and Medicare covered retirement through FICA deductions on her paychecks. I replied that I thought that she was an ungrateful POS to the woman who bore her. At her age, I never thought to question or complain about the deductions on my paychecks, figuring that the generation that fought in WWII for my freedom and eventual birth, deserved my indirect support. Now that the boomers are getting closer to SS retirement age, apparently many, especially the self-professed conservatives of the younger generations deeply resent eventually having to support them.

When I posted a reply as a question as to how they thought that the elderly and disabled in the US were expected to survive if their SS, SSD, SSI, and Medicare/Medicaid support were taken away, most replied that they could get assistance from shelters, food banks, charities and charitable donations, which of course they very well knew is not nearly enough or even very reliable.
