"Just because you're anti-abortion doesn't mean you're pro-life."
This was said to me by an old high school classmate who has since become a nun.

She went on to imply that to be consistently "pro life" one not only has to oppose abortion, but war, capital punishment and murder as well. While I disagree with her on abortion, I at least have to repsect her consistency and her refusal to be a hypocrite.

Too bad more of the whacked-out religious right can't be similar in its views.

1. the opposite is true as well
I am very staunchly Pro-Choice but that does not mean I am necessarily pro-abortion. Unless I am carrying the baby to term myself (a medical feat to say the least!), it is simply not my decision.

I also recognize that it is a difficult decision under any and all circumstances, and that prevention is more effective than legislation.

5. That is the only "prolife" position I have any respect for whatsoever.
NONE of the fundies are that kind of "prolife". They are bloodthirsty when it comes to punishment of perceived sins, and they consider war a holy sacrament.
