I don't know what the miscommunication here is, but Obama has consistently said that DADT is going to go away. I guess Shuster is peeved that it hasn't happened already.

If I did I apologize Buzz Clik!

I couldn't find the actual the video clip of yesterdays "Hypocrisy Watch" but I did find these two links talking about it.

http://thykingdom.blogspot.com/

"Also yesterday, MSNBC host David Shuster criticized the President, calling him hypocritical for leaving the "Don't Ask/Don't Tell" policy in place, despite a campaign pledge to end the ban. Shuster singled out Obama in his "Hypocrisy Watch" series, complaining, "But, here we are, more than four months into your administration and the 'Don't Ask/Don't Tell' policy remains in place." Referencing Dan Choi, whom we have been speaking of just about every day here, he said, "To continue to kick out soldiers like Daniel Choi, to continue 'Don't Ask/Don't Tell' four months into your presidency, that's hypocrisy and it's wrong.""

3. Like he was going to kick Katrina survivors to the streets...
and instead gave them all their trailers for $5 each.

He'll push for repeal of dadt as soon as they have a smooth process in place to get it done.

5. Has Obama said he will leave it in place while in office then?
after all its only a broken campaign promise if he doesn't do it in the next 4 or hopefully 8 years. I am sure no one would base it on the first 6 months ever :sarcasm:

10. Look, over 200 military personnel have been drummed out of the service for this since Obama

took office. That is where the story is, not just about "It's only been five months." There have been over 200 cases of dismissal over "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" since Obama took office. These people probably thought they wouldn't be discharged for "telling" based on Obama's campaign promise. I think Shuster makes a good point.

11. I guess he has to stay relevant somehow...
Since MSNBC gave his show to Big Eddie... Don't get me wrong, I liked Shuster and I hope he gets a primetime show sometime soon (assuming he keeps disingenuous attacks to a minimum).

20. I have a question!!!!
why doesn't the Obama administration put a freeze on any military dismissals under "Don't ask don't tell" until they can get it overturned????.

21. Yeah. What could you do with that?
He did make that promise, and it's very sad that something so easily fixed hasn't been thus far.

I can't but imagine that Truman faced even more opposition when he integrated the armed services. People's bigotry shouldn't be allowed to dictate not just fairness - but what's in the best interest of our country and our national defense.

And that's the real "pragmatic" bottom line - we're losing truly talented and dedicated people over bigotry. It's stupid in so many different ways.

22. Well said JerseygirlCT
Why can't the Obama administration call a moratorium on "Don't ask don't tell" Freezing any more dismissals until the reversal of this governmental based discrimination is overturned!!!
Governors have called moratoriums on the death penalty freezing planned executions.
