1. Safe passage dear Koko. You were the best...
I esp. love her version of "Insane Asylum" with Willie Dixon.

3. I was just listening to one of her CDs the other day.
How very sad to hear of her passing. She was something special. One of the best shows I ever saw was her performing with her band in a bar in Champaign, IL. I stood at the balcony rail and danced through every set.

There was this really pretty girl standing a little ways down the rail from us and it became evident after the second break that she was with the band. She came up to us after the break and told us the band was all giggling at those two crazy white girls dancing up there in the balcony. We all had a good laugh about it and we just kept on dancing.

Honestly, a bar show is my favorite way to hear the blues, and Koko Taylor was an absolute master of that venue.

Koko will be sorely missed.

5. Sad news indeed!
I was fortunate enough to see and record Koko Taylor at the Cincinnati Blues Fest a number of years ago. I later went to a weekend trip to Chicago and had a great time at her club. She sure could shake the room with that old wang doodle, all night long.

Godspeed Koko.
