Upside of Global Warming: Think of all the Antarctic fossils we'll find
Especially since a certain part of the warming is inevitable, might as well focus on the positive, right?

So think of all the really cool fossils we are going to find now that certain areas will melt!

Imagine all the Monotreme fossils we will find!

Of course the food riots will suck...

1. I imagine the massive
erosion that comes with the melt off is going to destroy a lot of them

2. Yes, this is true
But scientists can intercept this if they work quickly.

That is the benefit of having actual Scientists there rather than builders or military...

6. There's not much scientist can do
Once eroded the fossil is pretty much lost. It's unlikely your going to drop a bunch of scientist onto Antarctica and dig through a mile glacier to grab the fossil underneath it before erosion destroys it. I don't see what the military has to do with anything here.

3. Sure, when that is the only place left that will support human life.
I guess that's a plus.

5. Yes, and chances are they will destroy any fossil evidence they find
Just like when they find an archeological find - they destroy it so it does not interrupt building.
