Have you received your state income tax return
I live in Georgia and many people that I know are still waiting for their tax return checks. It's now June and a friend down the street said he filed back in early March and still nada. I told him to be being patient with the state because I know that Georgia, like most other states, has a huge budget deficit and is struggling to get the money to pay most people. I just hope the government will be this patient next year when it takes me a few extra months to mail my annual check to them. I guess they will understand when they get nada in the mail. Sorry boys my budget doesn't allow me to pay you this year, sorry.

3. I live in Texass. We doan pay no stinking state income tax.
And we have some shitty schools to prove it.

And some high property taxes.

4. How bad are the property taxes in Texas
I guess the one good thing about Georgia is that property taxes are pretty low compared to other states in the country.

5. We live in a 1650 sq ft house that is 40 years old. My tax bill for
2009 is a couple of bucks below $2,900. City of about 70,000, with a junior college.

9. Are you in Texas, too? Oh yeah, and we have 8.25% sales tax here also.
It is a little bit less outside the city limits, but not by much.

15. Unfortunately it's not a great as it seems.
Here in "Tax free" NH we may not have an income tax, but we have some of the highest property taxes in the country and a poorly funded school system to show for it.
