New Taxes on Beer And Wine.
How come they never take money from the Pentagon.. or reduce Federal Salaries? They always rape the taxpayer first. (sorry.. dumb question)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

WASHINGTON — A push for new taxes on soda, beer and wine to help pay for Americans' health care is stirring up more than just the beverage industry.

The Senate Finance Committee is considering raising taxes on alcohol and imposing a new levy on soda and other naturally sweetened drinks to help pay for overhauling health care. The committee calls them "lifestyle tax proposals," saying the levies would slow sales of unhealthy products that contribute to rising medical costs.

1. Not in favor in general
but I would like to see it on High Fructose Corn Syrup instead of "soda".

Alcohol is already heavily taxed. I guess they see demand as staying pretty steady for it no matter what.

3. Tax beer, wine, liquor, tobacco (although not too much - its overtaxed), and food luxury items
But make it minimal.

People never notice the 1-2¢ taxes

It's the $1 per pack/bottle ones that kill them
