Payen's court-appointed lawyer, Marilyn Reader, told the judge that her client has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. She said she's arranging for an independent evaluation to help determine whether Payen is mentally competent to stand trial.

But Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Snyder scoffed at any suggestion that Payen doesn't comprehend the eight-count indictment that was unsealed Tuesday.

Snyder told the judge that audio and video surveillance of planning meetings for the alleged terror plot show Payen talking "in a very sophisticated way, in a normal cadence."

Earth to Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Snyder - I know for a fact that a schizophrenic could actually do YOUR job - if the patient had the legal training, medication, support, and assistance with his/her symptoms. That SAME patient could be reduced to being unable to comprehend reality without the medication, support, and inability to manage their symptoms.
The FBI plant wouldn't have chose this "terrorist" to "set up" if the "terrorist" was able to manage his symptoms.
They would never have been able to convince a mentally healthy person, or a successfully treated mental health patient to go along with their scheme if it wasn't for this untreated mental illness.
It is my opinion that you could be-friend just about any schizophrenic there is, get them off their meds and out of therapy, and convince them to do whatever you wanted.
Scoff all ya want Assistant US Attorney Eric Snyder - you just don't understand.
