No radar range
(apologies if discussed here already)

While reporting about the disappearance of Air France, it was mentioned that, once it left the Brazilian radar, it was no longer covered by another station while crossing the Atlantic.

And I wonder: with all the satellites circling the globe, is there no way to have the whole world covered so that no plane is ever off radar range?

I am not an engineer, so have no idea about the feasibility of this.

and especially over such a storm-volatile part of the world. I don't get it either.

2. It wouldn't surprise me that it was on some sort of satellite coverage..
But it would be one of those situations where to acknowledge the existence of the ability would compromise secrecy of a "black" program.
