President Obama in Cairo: "Iraq was a war of choice."

PRESIDENT: Unlike Afghanistan, Iraq was a war of choice that provoked strong differences in my country and around the world. Although I believe that the Iraqi people are ultimately better off without the tyranny of Saddam Hussein, I also believe that events in Iraq have reminded America of the need to use diplomacy and build international consensus to resolve our problems whenever possible. (Applause.) Indeed, we can recall the words of Thomas Jefferson, who said: "I hope that our wisdom will grow with our power, and teach us that the less we use our power the greater it will be."

REMARKS BY THE PRESIDENT

3. Afghanistan also was a war of choice..
Attacking Saudi Arabia after 9/11 would have been more logical, the great majority of the hijackers came from Saudi.

6. It may have made sense to attack SA
. . . if the principle 9-11 suspects had fled there.

8. The principle suspects are dead and have been since 9/11/2001
And Osama bin Laden is still not on the top ten wanted list.

16. The great majority of the OKC bombers were American.
Attacking Saudi Arabia over 9-11 would have been ridiculously stupid.

10. "War of choice". Translation- war crime.
I'm tired of waiting for the trials. How much longer? We must punish, and punish severely. I am the last one to call for that kind of stuff, but this is about the death of what some say is a million Iraqis.

12. yep
It's all well and good to talk about HIS future intentions in wielding the power of the presidency, but I don't feel he's willing to do what it takes to make certain presidents beyond his administration pause to consider the consequences of similar actions as they contemplate the use of military force abroad.

14. It WAS NOT a war
It was a criminal invasion, mass slaughter and illegal occupation which continues to this moment. Obama's narrative is completely false and serves to disguise the criminality of the entire bloody affair.

It was a massive attack for Empire.

You can't stop living the lie until you stop telling it.
