I'm never giving up demanding, and working towards indictment of BUSH/CHENEY era CRIMINALS...
I always love to say hello to my brothers and sisters here who feel as strongly about this unsettled matter as I do.

The political affiliations of these CRIMINALS doesn't matter either, only the rule of LAW.

5. I agree -- tough beans as War Crimes are not partisan
Many of us are into feel good rather than the heavy lifting and self-reflection required.

Denial of the obvious is a painful and slow train wreck for our society and nation.

Our future is at stake.

I'll never get over Coup 2000 either because it led us into tragic disasters.

To do nothing. To hold no one accountable only leaves the barn door ajar for the next rogue administration to do what they will. One of the greatest threats of our National Security are those who seek to run our government under the cloak of their brands of law & authority.

To quote FDR June 27, 1936:
... It was natural and perhaps human that the privileged princes of these new economic dynasties, thirsting for power, reached out for control over government itself. They created a new despotism and wrapped it in the robes of legal sanction ....

I recommend reading the whole speech, it's as if he's speaking about our country today. A chilling example of how history can and does repeat itself.

(As an aside, I printed that powerful speech, and mailed it to about 50 or so lawmakers the other day.)

Edit: spelling

25. I felt this way about the 106th House Judiciary Committee
Boy am I glad I got over it. The hate consumed my life, and I was powerless to do anything about the situation. I made a promise of perpetual self-sabotage. Ten years later, I finally feel free of that burden.

Hope it goes better for you.

Thank You for keeping one of my dreams alive! I pray every day that justice will be served for all the servicemen that died for the lies of the Bush administration. I can hardly wait for the day that they're all serving time in the new Gitmo or in some foreign rendition camp.

37. Not prosecuting the thugs sends the message that the US
tolerates lawlessness among its rulers, making us no better than some third rate banana republic.

I find it particularly appalling that powerless people without means are prosecuted every day in this country for petty crap while the rich and powerful crooks go around making speeches and collecting millions. Someone started a thread the other day asking DUers if they were proud of their country. My answer is an unequivocal "NO."

Are you really gonna still be talking about this in 2016, even after Cheney is dead? Or in 2024? or 2032? (Watch Cheney still be alive in 2032 and I'll probably be dead) 'Never' can be a really long time.

42. K & R...and I will not give up either....
I agree..a number of terrible and treasonous crimes were committed and America needs to insist on the law being upheld.
Nothing less will do.
If anyone is not willing to see that the law is upheld and the criminals brought to trial..then they are giving up on the rule of law in America and the blood of all the troops and civilians killed in this war based on lies..is on their heads.

43. I support an FBI investigation and prosecutions.
Panic is no excuse for torture and murder.

What amazes me is just how paranoid the Cheneys really are. Even now, appearing all over TV like this, Cheney is has an embarrassing mental condition -- excessive paranoia. It's really strange. He never has a positive thought. He is always beating the disaster drum. And the strange thing is that the Bush/Cheney administration made a mess every time they responded to one of Cheney's horror scenarios. We are seeing a mentally ill person on our TV screen and his mental aberrations are being taken seriously.

Obama handled the issue with Al Qaeda intelligently, flawlessly in his speech in Cairo. He acknowledged the sincere religious conviction of the Muslim people -- showed respect and honored their traditions. But at the same time he condemned the violence of Al Qaeda and warned about it and vowed to protect America in language that his audience in Cairo and the world could understand. Obama showed real courage. Obama is not paranoid. Thank God for that. Obama is not paranoid. Cheney is paranoid.
