3. Yeah, right
What about us poor folks that have nothing better to do
Than watch TV and have a couple of brews?

7. I thought that at one time
It wasn't long before I figured out that there is a lot of other things to occupy my time with.
These days I don't even have the time to watch tv for more than a few minutes even if I wanted to do so.

8. Is that from the song "TV Party" by Black Flag?
I know there's a line that goes,

"We've got...nothing better to do.
Than watch tv, and have a couple of brews."

18. I like books. They're free at the library.
I watch a bit of TV, but I find most of it dull and silly.

Not so free if you think about it

22. Not necessarily
Libraries are often located near other amenities; you could visit the same time as your groceries. I mean, your TV isn't free either, they use quite a bit of electricity unless you have a flat screen one.

And don't you have to turn a light on to read?

24. No, I have a light on anyway at night to see my way around.
During the daytime I rely on the power of the mighty Sun.

5. Why does TV have to be such a trap?
Why can't it be like any other hobby that people have?

I'm not arguing with you, but I think it's funny how television works almost like an addiction.

You could have substituted "turn off the TV" with "eat less red meat".

10. It is an addiction
How else can one explain why so many people let their lives revolve around it.

12. Frank Zappa explained that in 1973..
I am gross and perverted
Im obsessed n deranged
I have existed for years
But very little has changed
I am the tool of the government
And industry too
For I am destined to rule
And regulate you

I may be vile and pernicious
But you cant look away
I make you think Im delicious
With the stuff that I say
I am the best you can get
Have you guessed me yet?
I am the slime oozin out
From your tv set

You will obey me while I lead you
And eat the garbage that I feed you
Until the day that we dont need you
Dont got for help...no one will heed you
Your mind is totally controlled
It has been stuffed into my mold
And you will do as you are told
Until the rights to you are sold

Thats right, folks..
Dont touch that dial

Well, I am the slime from your video
Oozin along on your livinroom floor

13. I once watched a lot of TV
I'm sure that it melted my brain to a degree.

Now I get my fix from the internets.

11. Or change the channel to cartoons! Or films!
Talking heads are just blowhards with opinions. I don't understand why people get so upset about some bloviator on TV or radio expressing a halfassed opinion.

WE have the power. Vote with your remote!

15. TV is easy to turn off. The Internet? Not so much
TV isn't my problem, hell, that's where I go to unwind after spending all day online!

(granted, I only go there for entertainment, not news or anything)

17. Since graduating from college I have never paid for TV. In Los Angeles, you get
a few stations whether you want them or not, but the only reason I own a TV is to watch DVDs and VHS tapes.

The internet and satellite radio, however, are another matter.
