Has Richard Clarke responded to Cheney contention that Clarke missed 9/11 warnings?
I just finished watching Jon Stewart skewer Cheney over his Clarke comment and then searched to see if I could find where Clarke responded but I haven't found anything. I thought he would have been on Countdown or Rachel by now. Has anyone heard him respond?

Here is Jon Stewart if you missed it:

2. If he's smart, he'll let Cheney sweat for awhile.

4. Can you believe it?
Cheney now tries to lay it on the one man who was 'way ahead of it all, and who - bless him - hasn't shut up about how they all fucked up for the past almost-eight years!!!

I just got his book - "Against All Enemies" - at the recommendation of a fellow DUer.

Clarke's a hero in all of this, and that fuckbag has the temerity to name HIM as the guy who fucked up?

Oh, this just gets better and better.

You KNOW that Jon is moving mountains to get Richard Clarke on the show as quickly as possible, right?

6. That's all fine and well if the Daily Show is trying to book him. But I doubt if any of the bookers
at any of the cable shows are. And that is what is wrong right now, IMO.

I can't seem to be able to turn on my teevee without seeing Lizzie defending her father.

And yet, no one has thought to book Richard Clarke to refute this attack on his record?!?!?!?!

9. It may be that Clarke is declining -
I can imagine, given the dignity and intelligence that define that man - that he has decided not to dignify that geek show with his comments or his presence, and the Big Dick's comments about Clarke might just have been designed to smoke him out and put him on the defensive.

Clarke's too smart to fall for that kind of bush league move.

Hey, I just made a funny! "... bush league..."

Oh, man, I slay myself.........................

11. Interesting take...
didn't think of the "call-out" aspect of it.

When I saw that clip at the Press Club from the other day, I almost broke my TV.

12. I just started watching a clip
of Mrs. Greenspan interviewing Daughter Cheney about Obama's speech (!) - and I couldn't do it.

I just closed it down.

Who gives a shit what that harpy has to say?

Yeah, I think that might be a very viable theory - the call-out. I wouldn't put anything past that scumbag.............

13. Good thinking. I did watched it and was pissed off. Andrea called her out a couple times & ended
w saying she will have to fact check and would like to have her on again. Is every Cheney a pathological liar? You'd think w you tube they might be a little more careful before they start spewing their filthy lies

5. Yeah, that was a jaw dropper all right
Cheney has totally lost it (if he ever even had it, that is)

It's like Cheney is deliberately setting up the serve for Clarke!

Mr. Clarke, your turn?

Can't wait.

7. That's OK. Clarke is on the record in his book that Bush ignore warnings.
And he has plenty of people who will back him up, not to mention a paper trail.

8. Whats up with all that?
Cheney won 9/11. Why is he getting all worked up over it? Even gone so far as to blame someone else??? WTF?

Is someone about to spill the beans on 9/11? Maybe let the testimony that he and Bush secretly gave to the commission that they tried to stop, come out in the news?

I don't get it. I thought 9/11 was like, so last year, why is Cheney even bringing it up now?

10. i am hoping that cheney and his big mouth... and his blaming clarke and tenet and the CIA
will cause things to be released that make it impossible not to do SOMETHING about what bush and cheney have done. oh, i am hoping that the CIA have something really good to leak that will make dick cheney wish he'd stayed in that undisclosed location.

14. Cheney would blame Paul Revere for not waking his ass up.
Edited on Thu Jun-04-09 06:11 PM by Uncle Joe
Of course that's assuming Cheney even wanted to be woken up; and I have serious doubts about that.

Thanks for the thread, mod mom.
