3. Taps was played.....
so beautifully. Very heartfelt.
I didn't know why the one plane flew away,
but it was a powerful image.

5. That's the Missing Man Formation. They do it at every air show in honor
of those "lost". I cry every time.

6. The flyover
During the "Missing Man" flyover, one aircraft in formation pulls up out of formation into the vertical. That aircraft ascends into the blue to represent the lost airman's ascent to the hereafter. It's the traditional tribute to those lost in aerial combat.
