Utterly filled with hate. Eaten up by greed, jealousy, suffering from extreme narcissism. Waiting to either be told what to do or think, or getting your rocks off telling people what to do or think. Hiding behind religion, using it as a weapon, but not truly believing its teachings, which explains why they are scared shitless of anything new or unfamiliar.

The election of Obama is bringing out the true ugliness, the true bereft nature of their thoughts and ideas, in a way that is just difficult to comprehend for human beings, and for Americans. They can't stand it, and if they can't have things their way, they are very happy to take everyone down with them to wallow in their miserable lives.

I have a Republican acquaintance that I'm truly beginning to think is a sociopath - not so much in what she does but in her general lack of compassion toward humanity. I know it's a stretch - but is it possible that many Republicans are, indeed, sociopathic...?

Don't fool yourselves into thinking it's all over. It ain't.

19. They can say what they want. We have these little things called FACTS.
They do not. All they have is opinion disguised as fact, "facts" they make up, logical fallacies and ad hominem attacks.

5. By Default, Republicans Will Live In Constant Anger and Fear
Change is always happening, and if you're someone who always wants to return to the days of Reagan, you're going to live in anger and fear of an ever-changing world.

about everything to come and blossom on DU.

But back to the Republican mind-set. It ranges from high-achieving predator to developmentally arrested at the age of 4 (anal phase) :)

11. Some people like to have an enemy. Their opposition to that enemy defines them, gives them purpose.
Without an enemy, they are adrift, and they do not like the uncertainty that comes with being adrift. With an enemy to oppose, they can use the opposition like a mental crutch to rest upon.

13. It's probably no worse than it was even when they were in power.
When your philosophy is "every man for himself", you see the people around you as "the enemy". It can't be much fun having enemies all over the place.

The dyed-in-the-wool republicans are LOVING it. why?

They THRIVE on being the poor put-upon group. It;s how they raise money. When they really cannot handle it, is when they are actually in control. They need to be able to tell their minions how persecuted they are, and how mean everyone is being to them. They have to crank up the fear machine to HIGH, and make ignorant people scared enough to support them.

Those same ignorant people cannot seem to figure out how come none of their issues got "taken care of" during those halcyon days, but they are just sure that democrats are out to "git 'em".

After all those years of republican rule, their issues are still the same ones.

18. < see this?
This is the most microscopic tear being shed for their plight.

Any dumbass who worships and enables a party that shoots their legs out from under them deserves no pity.

RNC: "I think offshoring blue and white collar jobs is great for the economy! The loss is, of course, painful. But it's only temporary! They'll bounce back!"
Dumbass: "I'm 100% for that . . . I think . . . yeah, I am. As long as it doesn't affect me . . . does it?"
