I will OPPOSE what The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Releases Today
Edited on Tue Jun-09-09 11:22 AM by WeDidIt
The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee will release a much anticipated draft of health care reform this afternoon, but the most contentious issues, like the public insurance option and employer mandate, will be left out of the bill for now, Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) said this morning.

"There are some gaps. But there are no gaps in our determination, my determination and that of my colleagues to have a public option, pay-or-play, or biologics," Dodd said. "But I left those areas open for dicussion not because they are open for some sort of decision on whether or not we ought move in that direction. But I wanted my Republican colleagues on the committee to know I wanted to their ideas, I want to hear what they have to say."

If it's not in what's released today, it'll never be there.

I'm calling my Republican Congressperson and my Democratic Senators to voice my OPPOSITION to the "Healthcare CEO Pocket Lining Act of 2009".

2. Me neither. I'm losing interest really fast and looking for some affordable
insurance. F%^& the administration, I'm losing interest in them quickly too. DADT is another issue along with LGBT issues. Disgusted is my word for the day...

3. I had been pretty much approving of how Obama is doing his job
If I was polled today, it would be a strong DISAPPROVE.

4. As long as private insurance providers are allowed to continue, people should oppose it

7. I can live with insurance companies being in it.
Because they all know damned well and good that a federal public option would eventually be the demise of private insurance.

8. Not really
It wont be their demise because they are the ones writing the legislation. It takes very specific, careful, engineered legislation to even make a public option viable. Its not just a shoe-in for destroying them, by far. That is a silly notion.

They shouldn't be allowed to continue because

1) They bring nothing to the table. When was the last major innovation in insurance? Its a productionless industry with no innovation.
2) Half of bankruptcies are from insufficiently insured people, as well as 22K deaths a year.
3) The overhead and profits do not justify any cost savings they could introduce, which would only be at the detriment of their customers

6. As if Dodd hasn't heard what the Republicans have to say about Health Care..
It is no wonder he has a Primary opponent. He is trying to dazzle us with bullshit..No democrat that has been in office more than a few years could possibly be unaware of what the Republicans think on the Health care Issue..I am so tired of being bullshitted by these people..

9. This is what happened when they took single payer off the table
It emboldened the right to oppose ANY public option.

Had Single Payer been right there in the middle of the table, they'd be BEGGING for just a public option and leave insurance companies in.
