6. And it's a chihauha!
I'm not going to fault any dog for biting a stranger on their property, but seriously, it's a yapper dog. What kind of person needs to taze and shoot it to "protect" themselves?

19. It reminds me of 1 day
In 1 day earlier I saw a loose what looked like an american pit bull terrier or some other bulldog terrier mix and all he/she did was bark at me til I walked completely away. Later on that day I saw a loose Chihuaua and he/she barked and repeatedly attacked my ankles as I was walking. Of course he/she didn't hurt me but I found it strange that the actual dog that attacked me was a chiuhuaua.

7. The dog was just doing his job, protecting his family and his territory.

Why did they have to back him up into a corner? Why couldn't they just leave him alone?

8. I would call a lawyer and sue the shit out of them
a teeny dog!! wtf...there is this overkill mentality in so many of these guys....jackboots on the ground..I know some of them in my small town, there are a few kind and decent cops here, very helpful..but there are also a few who practice 'overkill'. They see a ;criminal; whenever they encounter a kid riding his skateboard on the wrong sidewalk. this sounds like one of those with the thug mentality.

12. WTF?
"They said they were told that two officers had cornered the dog, when it began biting one on the hands. Police said the officers had "no option" but to shoot the dog."

I see a disturbing trend for cops to NEVER back down. They keep escalating until the are "forced" to taser, beat the crap out of, kill, whatever. For WHAT?

Same thing with the 70 yr old grandmother who got tasered. WTF idiot tasers someone for being "rude" or about a ticket? What kind of power trip / country do we have when that is acceptable because you can't show that you are human about something instead of having to "dominate"?

16. I've read the article twice
and I am puzzled...

Why were the police on the property? Am I missing this part? Here is the entire story and no reason is given for the police to even be there:

A YOUNG boy is still "barking" for his dog to come home after police tasered, then shot dead, the family pet on their front porch.

US police in Cincinnati killed Jack, the Bullock family's Chihuahua-mix pet, after an officer was bitten on the hand, WCPO reports.

The small dog had been Tasered, then shot at twice by police.

A third gunshot killed the dog.

Scott and Sharon Bullock discovered the dog's blood and three bullets on their porch after returning from a funeral last Friday.

They called the local police station and discovered what had happened to Jack, who was a birthday present for their 12-year-old son.

They said they were told that two officers had cornered the dog, when it began biting one on the hands. Police said the officers had "no option" but to shoot the dog.

Mr Bullock said his five-year-old son was distraught by the killing.

"He 'barks' for him," Mr Bullock. "He'd 'bark' and Jack would always come to him, so he's outside going 'Bark bark bark,' hoping he's gonna come back.

"It's heartbreaking."

His wife said the child had cried himself to sleep after the shooting.

Lieutenant Paul Hartinger from the Blue Ash police department told WCPO that the officers had no choice but to shoot the dog after it had attacked them and other people.

"As badly as the officer was getting bitten, he had to do something to protect himself," Mr Hartinger said.

"They first chose physical means, then a Taser, and when those two didn't work, he had no option but to shoot the dog."

Police say the dog had bitten the officer 17 times on one hand and nine times on the other.

By the way- This is my chihuahua Tiki.

20. How damned stupid is a person who puts his hands on a cornered dog
to allow himself to be bitten by that same dog 26 FUCKING TIMES?

I sure feel sorry for the people of Cincinnati to have to put up with such stupid-assed pricks, and sorry excuses for human beings police officers.

Procedure? Shoot a Chihuahua on a front porch? They had the dog cornered. One call to Animal Control and that dog would still be alive.

:banghead:
