"No one this conspicuously unintelligent should be in a position of power or authority."
And I say, let her go! She needs to talk her fool head off!

http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2009_06/018550.php

GOVERNOR TRAIN WRECK.... The Republican Party's base loves Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R). I can't relate to their affection, but I recognize her popularity in right-wing circles.

That said, anyone who fails to realize that Palin is hopelessly confused just isn't paying attention.

HANNITY: The price of oil is going up again. It's not quite at $140 a barrel, but it's certainly on its way up to $70 and $80.

PALIN: Yeah, well and I thank God it's not at $140. You know people say, "Hey, Alaska! 85% of your state budget is based on the price of a barrel of oil. Aren't you glad the price is going up?" I say, "No!" The fewer dollars that the state of Alaska government has, the fewer dollars we spend. And that's good for our families and for the private sector.

You've got to be kidding me.

Alaska residents pay almost nothing in taxes, because the state relies so heavily on oil money. If the price of oil goes up, Alaska gets more money. Palin argued on Fox News that would be a bad thing.

The problem, of course, is that Palin doesn't understand why she opposes government spending. In general, the Republican line is that it's important to limit spending so to keep taxes low and prevent deficits. But that doesn't apply to Alaska at all -- it already has exceedingly low tax rates and no budget deficit at all.

The governor, in other words, wants Alaska to have less money, just for the sake of having less money. Palin is the only governor in the country who can see her state's budget go up considerably -- giving Alaskan families more, and helping fuel the state's private sector -- without raising taxes a penny.

But Palin doesn't want that at all, because she doesn't understand the basics of how government works.

No one this conspicuously unintelligent should be in a position of power or authority.

1. This is not only Palin's lame talking point, but all the Repukes who have
presidential ambitions...in her case it may be that she's really stupid, but for the others, they just assume the Repuke base is really stupid.

3. No, she's a good robot, programmed to say, "Government is bad"
It doesn't matter whether the propaganda makes sense. It only has to be repeated often, from a variety of people in posts of authority. And now, don't all of us have relatives or officemates who will parrot Palin's words after reading this article? Even people who are "pretty smart" otherwise fall prey to this method of hypnosis. Government is bad, government is bad, government is bad...

4. So much wrong with one statement
If oil prices go up, why not say that's bad because people will pay more for gas? The worst thing about it is that it may unleash state spending at no cost to taxpayers?

If she's so anti-spending by government, let's make her back it up. Driving down the road? - sorry, government payed for it, no roads for you. Salary? Pay it all back, that's government spending.

5. Then she should ask the Legislature to draw up a repeal of Alaskan
oil royalties, taxes, and fees.

No more money for the State of Alaska to spend, nada, none, zip.

Makes things even BETTER for everyone, right, Sarah, you moron?

My god this woman is concentrated stupid.

12. How do you avoid this
"No one this conspicuously unintelligent should be in a position of power or authority."

It's pretty clear that the "conspicuously unintelligent", voted for her and got her elected as governor.

So, the question is how do you keep someone like Palin from getting elected, because here in America everybody has the right to vote, with a few exceptions, except the "conspicuously unintelligent".

17. Well, here in America, we do have many
conspicuously unintelligent people (see 2000/2004 sElections), but they could be wising up. That's why I hope Palin continues to talk so she will remove all doubt about her intelligence.

18. The Marxist State of Alaska...
Thats how I refer to it now. In truth, it is just about the best example of Marxism that has ever been applied.

Most 'Conservatives' like the Alaska program, so it really throws their head for a spin to explain to them that this is the State paying its citizens for the States resources, i.e., pure Marxism.

Drives them freaking bonkers.
