Shep Smith blaming people who “question Obama’s birth certificate...THIS MUST STOP!” and also referred to those who think Obama is a Muslim as “garbage”.

10. The republicans will not be able to turn it around until they purge these guys.
Other people have said it and I agree.... I think the best way for the republicans to make a comeback is to purge the racists, homophobes, anti-semites, religious nuts, anti-government crazies, and other malcontents. They will lose the next 2-3-4 presidential elections, but they will be better for it.

14. I agree that they will have no base.
But they can make an argument on principle and win down the line. They will also be better for it.

16. I honestly don't see how. They've entitled hatred for a whole generation or more now.
If they were to do such a thing, the backlash would be huge.

They've painted themselves into an incredibly ugly corner.

17. So has freeperville
JimRob is in a bad position and it's all his fault. He has allowed his website to be used for the ugliest of purposes (starting with hatred). If he wants to find a way to clean it up (which I doubt) he will have to start with himself.

24. The Fiscal/Business Republicans decided...
To climb in bed with the Christian Right and the Southern Racist back in the 80's primarily to use them as "vote-bots"...Now these two groups are basically one and own the GOP...I can't see who the GOP purges or cleans this mess up?

27. The GOP, in courting the "Christian" extremists, has also funneled $$$ to them.
I don't see how they can put this monster out of commission.

28. Me either!
The Christian Right in this country is like a cancer on society! I just wish they would strip them of their Tax Exempt status and make things fair at least. They get the best of both worlds, which is a direct violation of our Constitution!

I would like to think if President Obama can hang on for 8yrs and he leaves the country in much better condition than it is now...Maybe another Democratic Candidate can be elected to follow him and by then the GOP will have been forced to restructure and the Religious right will have been severly disabled...I can dream, right?

They have a nasty electorate to appeal to in their primaries.

4. "Let FoxNews know how you feel about this little angry queer."
They always have to go there, don't they? They always have to make it an issue of race, gender, sexual identity, presumed orientation, etc., don't they?

And yet, they whine and say we're being intolerant if we call them bigots. Fucking assholes.

6. "Let FoxNews know how you feel about this little angry queer. "
That just about sums up their feelings on anyone who opposes their gasping failure of logic, economics, government, and history (among other things.) THey call him something you hate and/or don't understand in hopes they find as insult in it as they do.

With FreeRepublic.com at the top of the list.

I'm sure some of them are polishing their guns right now and looking up Shep's address.

9. Yep, for this reason alone Shep may see how dangerous these people are....
whether or not he's gay, they THINK he is. That's dangerous enough with these...I don't have a friggin name for them.

This isn't business...this is personal. These people are dangerous when they see someone as "the enemy." And they pretty much see EVERYONE as the enemy except for the Limbaugh/Coulter/Cheney/Hannity/Becks.

This might be the straw that breaks the camel's back for Shep if they do recieve enough hate mail from freepers. I thought for sure he was done after pounding his fist and saying "We don't fucking torture"

15. I don't know how the hell Shep keeps his job at that shithole of a network
I don't claim to know shit about the guy's politics. I suppose he could be a "Log Cabin Republican", but he's obviously not a fan of the extremist right wing agenda, like most other FAUX employees (and their viewers) are.

25. Either Shep will get a memo or he won't be on that network for much longer.
This is the straw that will break at Fox News. He's off the reservation, so to speak, and that won't stand for long.

Funny thing is, he's reporting the raw truth.

30. So now that Shep and Faux have sowed the wind,
They're not wanting to reap the whirlwind. Sorry Shep, it's a little to late for that, perhaps you should have thought about the consequences of what you were stirring up before you started stirring that pot.
