but try to remember Lincoln's GOP was formed by the LIBERALS inside the Whig party that were drummed out

10. To play devil's advocate,
it could, replacing the Dems, this kind of party reversal has happened in the past.

I suspect it will be right of center and perhaps the progressive base will take over the dems

if not we may see a reversal, but the environment is there for the emergence of a third VIABLE party
