Folks, WE THE PEOPLE elected Obama, and WE THE PEOPLE gave the Democrats a strong majority in both houses of Congress.

To maintain a real progressive movement, we must keep pressure on our elected officials. As Emerson said, "Even voting for the right is doing nothing for it."

We're already seeing spineless Democrats like Mary Landrieu come out against a public option. It's time she heard from us.

Here's a quick contact list of the heavy hitters in the health care debate. Also be sure to check out Standwithdrdean.com to sign his petition demanding a public option be part of the final legislation.

So take a few mintues to stop masturbating. Turn off your TV. Log off X-Box.

All that bullshit can wait. Standing up to the health insurance industry can't.

Write, call, e-mail. Whatever. Just do it.

Now.

1. I have contacted my reps
For good and ill they are Durbin, Burris and Hare.
All Democrats and all are for it.

It's good that they're there and I wish there were more supporting it like they do

The ill - I can't help move their vote away from the pro-corporatist side

2. I'm unclear on the concept of how subsidizing insurance companies is fighting them. Can you

fill me in?

i have contacted both of my senators and the White House to tell them I want an end to private insurance companies and that I strongly favor a single payer system as obviously the best way to contain costs and to insure that everyone will always have affordable single payer health insurance.

I think if Dr. Dean had stood up and called on the White House to allow single payer experts to be part of the planning sessions and the summit, that I would have a lot more respect for him right now,

The fact that he condoned leaving some people out of the process makes me wonder to his commitment to basic fairness and inclusion. Will he be silent when certain groups or people get no health care? You know, if it's politically expedient not to say anything?
