3. Some of those numbers are VERY misleading
There are some very low numbers for the Northwest - yet that seems to be a stronghold for groups like Aryan Nations, which have a heavy presence in states like Idaho. And zero groups in Alaska - yet there is a party advocating secession (we all know about Palin's husband).

19. Secession is a silly concept, but not an intrinsically hateful one
If they want to leave the Union, that's one thing. If they want to leave because The Mud Races Are Destroying Our Western Culture, that's another entirely, of course.

7. The closest ones to me here in Georgia are
the Ku Klux Klan in Ellijay, where my sister lives about 40 miles from me. Then there is National Socialist Aryan Workers Party (Neo-Nazi) in Kennesaw just up the road from me. There are plenty others, but those are the closest to where I live.

... sadly. A great percentage of their platforms is based on populism - bringing back jobs to the US, etc. Then they mix in racism to create a victim to blame for the problems - ignoring the fact that it was primarily *white (so-called) Christian men* of both political flavors who sold out our country.

Of course, those who put the blame where it belongs - on Wall Street / banker-insiders who rotate in and out of government - will be 'lumped in' as 'hate groups' as well, so the neo-nazis serve a valuable function in the greater scheme of things.

20. I googled the name on the list and found the one nearby...discovered it was owned
by ...well like I said. I think I will try emailing the place and see what he says. And no you should not be surprised. :D

I lived in Stearns County for a couple years...but didn't have time for politicking back then (early 90s)

because blacks don't assimilate-we are therefore considered haters? blacks weren't allowed to assimilate for decades, dare i say 100's of years. the israelite church believe they are descended of the original hebrew-wear the star and all. they have charter schools set up for their children. separate doesn't mean hate filled. i never heard any anti semitic rhetoric.

He and three other extremist Hebrew Israelite preachers, all wearing the Israelite School insignia of two swords crossed through a Star of David, berate their victim until he begins to weep. The altercation is part of an Israelite School recruiting video that began circulating this spring and has since been viewed more than 73,000 times.

"Are you saying the Holocaust is a joke?" the Jewish man asks.

"It's a joke!" the "general" responds. "The Holocaust is a damn joke! Heil Hitler!"

Mobile clusters of up to a dozen extremist Hebrew Israelite street preachers, known in the movement as "camps," have become a common presence at busy intersections, plazas and public transportation centers in large American cities, especially in Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., as well as Venice, Calif. The camps are often remarkably aggressive and intimidating, railing against "white devils" and calling for death for Jews and homosexuals



How is that not hate?

29. they are the exception not the rule.
splc is talking about extremists in the religion. there are extreme christians that blow up abortion clinics but, not all christians behave in that manner.
