How are Limbaugh, O'Really, Hannity, etc. any different from Joseph MacCarthy

MacCarthy didn't exactly "incite" violence either but the very great Majority of Americans deemed what he did as Shameful. Where is that same feeling and expression of disgust now? What O'Really and Limbaugh are doing is not illegal, it is just shameful and disgusting. They are nothing more than "shock jocks" going to the extreme for ratings..They need to really be called on it and by someone with real credibility among Americans as a whole.

But rest assured, if any of these people were ever to get any real control over the government they'd be worse than McCarthy. They wouldn't stop with "black lists" and public hearings.

I grew up in Appleton WI (McCarthy town) in the late 1950's and 1960's. I am approx. age of Greta van Suckup of FAUX noise and knew her family (did not know them well). Greta's dad was a big campaigner for McCarthy - apple did not fall far from tree. Although Greta may not offend your sensibilities as much as O'reilly and Hanninty, a simple trip to her blog, GretaWire, will convince you that her followers are batshit insane (with Greta's encouragement). The OP is correct, the FOX crew and Rush ARE shock jocks and they ARE like Joseph McCarthy and it is time for all legitimate news agencies to shout it from the rooftops. BTW, just a few years ago, my hometown erected a museum to "honor" our Joe McCarthy.

and the sponsors. When there are no longer enough idiots to listen to their crap, they will be taken off the air. When will that occur?
